Saturday I went to a new spot, Black Pond Wildlife Management Area (WMA), a secluded section of beach on L. Ontario, a few miles north of Southwick
Beach. Parking there is quite minimal, I got there around noon, and was quite lucky to find a spot, somewhat removed from the trailhead. The trail
is about 1/2 mile, some of which is boardwalk. the boardwalk at the start was wide enough for my little Comp Std., but as I got closer to the beach,
it got narrower until I finally had to carry the buggy the last 100 yds or so. It proved to be worth it though, as I had great wind and mostly empty
beach to ride all afternoon. A little video of the fun, 38 special provides the tune, "Hold on loosely". Vid recorded on the Tachyon XC Micro helmet

long lines would be a bit of a problem. had to look a second time at the vid, missed the drift wood at 2:26 and 3:51
good choice of music, looks like the event came together nicely.dawicks - 1-8-2011 at 07:08 AM
Nice vid!
I like the idea of the windsock... having a visual check of the wind direction would be really helpful for me.

@bigkid, lol those would be yer average sized 'drift wood', here. They were cheerful at first, but after my 40th pass or so, they seemed mildly
annoyed. I dunno, I was having fun!
@D, Ya, I make a guess at windspeed based on the sock. I used to have a cheap, dollar store sock, until I got this one. I'm using a 13' Shakespear
Panfish pole, and a spring-type holder. You could go as simple as a nylon or plastic ribbon, just get used to what it does in what kind of wind.popeyethewelder - 4-8-2011 at 12:37 AM
Nice chilled out video again...love itgreasehopper - 4-8-2011 at 04:34 AM

Can you give me a sense of the dimensions of you sock???
I have some extra ripstop... would be pretty easy to make one.
If you click on detail section, you will get an explanation of each photo.dawicks - 6-8-2011 at 01:25 PM
Wow... thanks man. That is awesome... you went way above the call o duty. Appreciate it... will let you see finished product!

No prob, man. It's way easier to show with pics. (worth a thousand words...) Can't wait to see it! Maybe if you have enough cloth, and the time, you
could make one and have a drawing for the new guys! I have an Ozone sock (a little smaller) that I will put up for grabs if anyone is interested.
Start a list, and I will pick a name on Friday, 8/12! bobalooie57 - 8-8-2011 at 07:38 AM
No one wants to be in on a drawing for a FREE Ozone windsock? :sniff: Post if interested. dawicks - 8-8-2011 at 08:26 AM
Well, I would be interested, but I think it will be more fun to make one... I do have enough material to make a few... and I was thinking the same
thing. I think I have enough to make three to give away
Cheers,

Price is right, I'll kick it off.
bobalooie57: You might have to start a thread, so FREE is in the subject line.;-)bobalooie57 - 12-8-2011 at 06:33 AM
