newbie to the forum because of a theif

darins - 1-8-2011 at 08:30 PM

Long story short someone broke into my vehicle and stole my kite. While searching for a new one I came to land in this forum. I had no idea there were others like me  so off to the sale section. If anyone has something 4-5M quad line for around $150.00 let me know whatcha got.

awindofchange - 1-8-2011 at 09:35 PM

That really sux about your car getting broken into. Let us know what was stolen and we can all keep an eye out for it. You never know what can pop up on craigs list, E-bay or some of the other forums.

For a replacement kite, I just loaded up several demo kites of ours that we are closing out. Most of them are in like new condition and are close to your budget.

You can see them on the new kite site: http://www.kitebookie.com

Hey darins,

You gotta come out to Sunset Beach sometime. Awesome beach for one, and you just might run into some other kiters :) And we do have a great event (SOBB) coming up the first part of next month.

arkay - 2-8-2011 at 10:46 AM

Welcome! +1 for coming to SOBB... if you're in gaston it's only a 1.5h drive on a slow day to sunset beach!

I'm just down I swing through gaston a bunch heading to elk cove... sounds like we're close by! So do you kite in gaston?

Yea that would be a good way to sight in the 223 :karate:

Bladerunner - 2-8-2011 at 04:51 PM

That sucks!
Try and make it to SOBB.
I'm not sure if it fits your needs but I have a 3m Blaze and 5m Ace with 1 set of Radsail handles and lines + PKD killers + PL kite stake I am about to unload cheap. You can have them all for $125 if I can drop them off at SOBB?
The kites are in good shape. For some reason 3 or 4 panels in the Ace discloloured but both are free of damage or repairs.

darins - 2-8-2011 at 07:08 PM

Blade runner I will take you up on that offer consider them sold . Can I pick them up in Vancouver? I have a trip planed the 3rd week of August and I would like to have them for the trip. The kite that was stolen was an older Ballistic Blaze. I really knew it's strengths and weaknesses so a more modern kite will sure be a new experience. I will come for the sobb event sounds fun maybe you guys can teach me something.

Scudley - 2-8-2011 at 08:17 PM

If you are coming to Vancouver, swing by Garry Point. You can join us waiting for wind.

BR is in Vancouver, BC not Vancouver, WA

6 hours to drive for kites = die hard!!!

BR, i have some stuff that needs to be picked up at the border so I can mail them out for ya, if need be.

Bladerunner - 3-8-2011 at 06:40 AM

Sounds Good Darins.

If you will be in Van. Canada then no problem. If not we caan go plan "B" and send them down with Rip's stuff?

If you get to SOBB you can meet up with the Pansh Team . Both kites are flying well thanks to RonH reworking the Blaze but it will be nice for you to meet the Rep's.

Hey Darins.

flyinken - 3-8-2011 at 09:55 PM

Where was your car parked? I have a 2.2m blaze so I know what it looks like.
What size is it?
Is your trip in Aug to WSIKF?
I know Gaston a little. I fish at Hagg from time to time. I have a 6m kite I want to try on Hagg one of these days.

Darins, Give us North-west people a description of the kite that was stolen. Most of us are on the beach/fields most weekends, excluding Sunset Jim of course (Think he's out most every day!! )

We can keep an eye open for it. Also check out your local used sporting goods stores. It may help to contact the owners/managers of those shops.
Most of them are on the up and up, and will inform either you or the local PD.

As far as SOBB goes. You just have to be there to understand.

Kamikuza - 4-8-2011 at 02:45 AM

Sucky reason to be here, but welcome all the same!

darins - 4-8-2011 at 09:11 PM

The blaze in question was a 3.3 black base with orange flames and was stolen from my truck in Gaston about 4 years ago and I have been complaining ever since. The time has come to get another.

August is our yearly family trip to the beach house

Bladerunner,,When is Rip going across the border? Any idea on shipping charges?

ripsessionkites - 5-8-2011 at 01:52 AM

im crossing the border on TUE / WED (Aug 9 or 10)

if BR comes by this weekend and I get the kites ... I'll pack them as small as possible to fit into one box. if not /per box is: $14.95 (give or take) Flat Rate USPS Priority

Bladerunner - 5-8-2011 at 06:46 AM

Darins,

Send me a U2U with your shipping info.

I am off to work but will message you back this evening. I will be sure and get the stuff to Ricardo. Should fit in a single box.

If shipping is only $15. I'll cover it in the original price.

Bladerunner - 8-8-2011 at 06:35 AM

Hey Darins,

Messaged you a couple of times. Richard heads over the boarder today or tomorrow. Since I never got an address I never drove out to Richmond to drop the kites off. Missed that chance.

The offer to deliver them to SOBB in person is still up.
