I noticed that also
I guess for her its normal for him to leaving that way.

ragden - 11-8-2011 at 04:47 AM

The ending cracked me up. Nice beach, cool rides, excellent buggy exit.

bobalooie57 - 11-8-2011 at 05:46 AM

Me too! Very nice video, great spot, awesome ending. Thanks!

Bladerunner - 11-8-2011 at 06:24 AM

That was twice as good as usual 'cause there were 2 buggies and twice as many OBE's !

What a sweet ending!

:wee:

popeyethewelder - 11-8-2011 at 07:17 AM

Hey Rips....not a very good advert for Apexx Sidebar Technology...."just sayin"...or is this an advert saying have one made to measure :tumble:

snowspider - 11-8-2011 at 07:31 AM

bye:lol:

Coolbreeze - 11-8-2011 at 07:44 AM

That's great Rip. Thanks for putting that together. When I did the ejection at the end , what you cant see is that I actually land on my feet about 10' away.
I actually don't have any more OBE's than anyone else it's just that they end yo on film........ I am getting better at the landing though.:tumble: was a great vacation in Oregon especially having the 32' motor home on the beach at sunset, nothing like having everything right there when you need it. It was interesting getting it off the beach at high tide though with three cars stuck in the sand right in the middle of the sunset road approach, that's where my wheelin experience pays off.

Good job Rip.

acampbell - 11-8-2011 at 07:48 AM

Thats the trouble with having cameras pointing at you I guess lol, tbh I dont have that many OBEs, and the only time I do seem to is when I am doing something I shouldn't be doing, or really needn't do...only 2 weeks ago, it was towards the end of the day, and the beach was clearing, there were three of us practicing doing tack turns one end and suicide gybes the other, we were getting faster and faster...when I got caught, up and out the back, I was told I went about 12 feet in the air then slam dunked on my back, then dragged another 30m....certainly knocked the wind out of me, and I could barely turn my head that evening my neck was that stiff.

I wish I could have vacations like that, it looked an awesome place, stay cool Grant

BeamerBob - 11-8-2011 at 09:49 AM

Great vid and yes, the sweet and innocent wave bye was quite classic. I don't think I could pop out of my buggy like that. I kind of do a twist to pop into place and then again to get back out.

mougl - 11-8-2011 at 10:26 AM

LOVE the ending...bye bye!!! /wave

the beach is Manzo (south of sunset) and also Sunset Beach the event venue for SOBB.

when we made my ApeXX both Grant and I got it in the same size. either we're getting more skinny or not eating enough McDonald's. We had to add some more foam to the side rails. The foam was going thin after use. my new buggy is even smaller than the last one.

actually, Grants OBE is always because of his upturns. not to mention dude loves to ride overpowered. we don't just putt putt around the parks / beaches, we ride!!!

honestly we need to name the OBE something else when you land on two feet.

custom buggies always RULE, same with the ApeXX. hehehehe. Just saying.

DAKITEZ - 11-8-2011 at 10:58 AM

Grant needs to eat more tacos so he can fit tight in those rails :)

I am locked solid in my apex :P I messed up a couple times and instead of an OBE the kite just picked up me and the buggy together  I knew I made the best purchase ever when that happened!

arkay - 11-8-2011 at 11:23 AM

OOBE = land on your face / ass

KEGL = Kite Ejected Graceful Landing :o For when you land on your feet...

I couldn't agree more. When it's done as smoothly as Grant and one lands on their feet, it deserves much more of a deserving name.

arkay - 11-8-2011 at 12:08 PM

nice KEGL Grant

Drewculous - 11-8-2011 at 12:37 PM

KEGL....... um, might wanna pick some other name that doesnt correlate to something else
"oh man, did you see that kegl... impressive!"
AHAHAHAHA!

was that rip riding shotgun waving bye?

lol, good vid!

iOBE= intentional OBE

bigkid - 11-8-2011 at 01:58 PM

We could always call it a "Grant" when we land on our feet. What do you think of that Cool Breeze? :bigok:

BeamerBob - 11-8-2011 at 03:52 PM

My mind is racing with all the angles of attack between KEGL, pink skirt. I'm going to let things settle down before I really comment. :ticking:

Coolbreeze - 11-8-2011 at 03:54 PM

Well" KEGEL" exercises are what women of a certain age do to strengthen up the muscles in the lower abdominal area to stop them from peeing them selves, which is sort of appropriate cuz when ever I have an OBE I almost piss my self.

As far as calling it a "Grant", we all want to be famous in one way or another,....not too sure I want to be famous for that though. As I recall BigKid's OBE was way more dramatic than anything I've ever done. may be it should be call a 'Jeff"
Just sayin......

CB

Txshooter38 - 11-8-2011 at 04:19 PM

Bye.....Bye......:lol: She seems strangely use to that method of departure!!!!!!

AWESOME!!!!! Great Video!

Leojim - 11-8-2011 at 04:40 PM

Rip you always seem to make great vids.
In your honor, maybe it could be named a "riparture" for "Really Impressive Powered departure

:wee:

Bladerunner - 11-8-2011 at 04:45 PM

How about Pulling a " Grant " Like Big K said?

Kind of like how wrapping your kite around a pole is called a " Ricky " around here !

Or borrowing kites then leaving them in a mess. Locally called "Greging".

Poor Jeff didn't exactly land on his feet !

;-)

arkay - 11-8-2011 at 05:09 PM

can't be pulling a grant... this is an intentional oobe :)

I didn't use KEGL out of the blue ;)

Ripstop is too much like fabric, and we'd need to see more footage first :p

GOOBER = Graceful out of buggy exit required, kinda like grant-ing it on purpose :wee:

I think this is becoming a troll thread...

CB

Just to clear the air, an OBE that ends up with body damage has been called a Jeff for over a year now, a Washington joke. Wasnt funny back then, but it is now.
If we dont call it a Grant then Grant gets to name it, sense he perfected it. just my 2 cents worth.

BeamerBob - 11-8-2011 at 06:14 PM

I like just calling it a "Grant". It's a really cool thing and he's definitely got the most video footage worldwide of pulling it off. It actually has me thinking about it he makes it look so easy.

greasehopper - 11-8-2011 at 07:05 PM

The skilled make it look easy.
The talented make it look effortless.

Ya make that look effortless, Grant.

BeamerBob - 11-8-2011 at 08:09 PM

I've been thinking about this and it hit me that this move just needs to be called ...............
"The Coolbreeze". It just rolls off the tongue.

ripsessionkites - 12-8-2011 at 02:14 AM

oh boy!!! CB is famous. so much for the title "newbie" now, bro.

the CB it is. don't worry there will be more footage to come as always. the next events coming are SOBB and WWBB for those that want to see the "live show".

next one will be in slow-motion again, i promise. ROFL. :spin:

csa_deadon - 12-8-2011 at 02:30 AM

Nothing will beat the ejection at NABX! The raw footage is sweet, and arkay stopping CB's buggy is unforgettable!

nocando - 12-8-2011 at 02:58 AM

Nice " Grant " coolbreeze:wee:

sunset-Jim - 12-8-2011 at 05:09 AM

A CB.... I like it... I can see the competitions now. Pulling off the slickest CB and or buggy travel distance after a CB

sunset-Jim - 12-8-2011 at 05:36 AM

Or..... how about, a CBE :eureka:

I was thinking about LLCB Leaving (or Landing) Like Cool Breeze. A CBE, guessing CoolBreeze Exit fits with OBE better

greasehopper - 12-8-2011 at 04:08 PM

 CBE

as if my vote counts... but I think it works.

mougl - 12-8-2011 at 06:16 PM

+1 CBE CoolBreeze Exit

shehatesmyhobbies - 12-8-2011 at 07:43 PM

Awesome video and beach! I also like "CBE" no doubt he has it mastered!

Can't wait to ride with you guys! I am sure to learn a thing or two!

pyro22487 - 14-8-2011 at 12:48 AM

+1 for the bye bye ending. LOL.

pbc - 14-8-2011 at 07:00 PM

My kids and I loved the OBE part of the video. I like how CB just leaves the buggy and all you see is the empty seat and the buggy keeps rolling.

It reminds of those bumper stickers that read, "In case of rapture this vehicle will be un-manned." He did rise up into the heavens. :-)

And the bye-bye at the end was LOL funny.
