It's critical for me as I spend a lot of time picking my way through desert scrub and rough terrain. Sometimes there's just no good way to go but right through the middle of it. A RubberMaid garbage can section cut to fit and zip tied in place is a pretty effective cactus deflector. It ain't sexy but it beats asking someone to take a pair of needle nose pliers to yer butt. Ya can't trust just anyone to get THAT done right...

A Belly Pan is basic kit here in the Sonoran Desert aka O.N.M. (Occupied Northern Mexico).
