You know our hobby has become mainstream when the Globe and Mail, "Canada's Newspaper", does a spread on kite buggy vacations in the Magdalens.

Not so much an article as an advertisement, it's probably the result of good marketing by the owner of the lessons outfit, and a need to fill space by the newspaper. Owner gets free advertisement, paper gets free article, win-win. Good on Aerosport Kitesurfing to come up with it. $125.00 for 4 hr lesson sounds reasonable, but is it realistic to think someone will have the skills to ride within 4 hrs, having never flown a power kite before? Does one have to speak french to go there?

If the G&M has it as a vacation, English will be fine. Just remember to spell colour with a u and it's zed not zee. Throw in a tabernac and the odd colis, you will fit right in.
My Quebecois buggy contacts tell me this is some of the best buggying in the world.

Yes Eric has always been a very good self promoter of his business on the islands. It's a mecca for east coast kite buggiers and surfers. Incredible beaches and bays just some long travel plans involved in getting there. No you don't need to speak French but it is a VERY French island so the culture, food and entertainment is a lot of fun and although most residents will be francophone there is a mix of English speaking so you won't be totally lost.

 I met Claude at the last WBB. He really likes to GO FAST!

I was just outside Montreal last weekend for a kite fest and met up with Claude and the Montreal area buggy gang. I know Claude is trying to get a group to head down to the fall WWBB - one other rider was thinking they would have about 10 riders if it works out.

Weather forecast the M Islands for the next week is pretty monotonous: wind 25 km/hr SW going to 45 km/hr Tuesday
