Ok so, most of us have kites to cover just about any wind that can come our way for our favorite kite disciplines. What I'd like to ask is this:
1) Your favorite discipline? (buggy, KGB, water, static, etc)
2) Your favorite wind speed range?
3) Your favorite kite and size for that range?
We all have our "epic session" preferences. What are yours?
For me it would be in the buggy on hard pack with winds 25+ and a viper 2.6 or 3.9 just because I haven't had my hands on a vapor yet Drewculous - 21-8-2011 at 02:28 PM
Ideal? Hardpack, phantom, bug 15mph... Was pretty awesome!
My taste of the charger left me wanting more.... Like 19m, hardpack, and atb.... 20mph winds.... Oh yeahBladerunner - 21-8-2011 at 03:05 PM
Coyotes or skis, 20mph , hardpack beach or snow, 15m Syn.pyro22487 - 21-8-2011 at 03:43 PM
Favorite summer ride thus far:
Nice big open field freshly cut on the ATB flying the 16m scorpion in 20-23mph winds can we say fast and fun...The ultimate park n ride, going to
slow pull on the throttle a little and away you go. Best part of it all is the whole time you feel totally safe and confident under that wing.
Winter time riding:
18mph winds with the 12m sp2 floating on 2 feet of powder. As long as you don't bail that kite will keep on pulling no matter how far upwind you
point your board. When you time everything right you are looking at some awesome boost. Probably not as high as most of you but getting airborne 8
feet and just soaring down to ride away perfectly was the highlight of last winter for me (only made it work twice though)
Expecting my new 12m LEI tomorrow so I'm thinking water riding will soon become one of my favorites.dylanj423 - 21-8-2011 at 06:57 PM
i cant pick just one... my favorite depends on the conditions im given
wind under 17mph = atb on hardpack
wind over 17mph and warm = surfin
wind over 17mph and chilly = buggy on hardpackripsessionkites - 22-8-2011 at 02:33 AM

My old ideal conditions were 15-25 in grass with my beamer5 m in the buggy. Now I love 10mph winds with my 18 m phantom in the grass or on the beach.
If the winds are higher than 25 I pick up my 2.6 m viper and have a blast.mougl - 22-8-2011 at 07:32 AM
25 seems to be where the viper 2.6 comes to life! That little thing screams!B-Roc - 22-8-2011 at 09:07 AM

Ultra-low tides, 10 mile long beach, no tourists whatsoever, 25-30 knot winds, Peter Lynn Hornet 2.0 or if winds are even higher: a Vibe 2.3 or 1.9.

Gruntin' up a steep wash in Rock-It 1.0 on 10m Crossfire runnin' with the wind on the afternoon thermal drafts and speedwingin' back down. When it
gets floaty & sketchy the "pump-n-dump" is killer.
