I sure hope my fav spot doesn't get destroyed.......:puzzled:shehatesmyhobbies - 25-8-2011 at 04:18 PM
Right there with you Donnie! Last years Winter storms messed things up quite a bit! After the storm, I will have to take a ride over and check it out!
It's almost party time over there anyway! Nothing like end of summer season at the beach! Makes me happy!ripsessionkites - 26-8-2011 at 03:05 AM
when you mean destroyed .. how bad could it be??? just curiousWELDNGOD - 26-8-2011 at 05:36 AM

don't think thats gonna happenripsessionkites - 26-8-2011 at 06:58 AM
60mph on shore would be epic. New PR record for beach.
This would also help shorten the 24hr distance time too.BeamerBob - 26-8-2011 at 10:47 AM
what would you fly with 60 mph onshore?sunset-Jim - 26-8-2011 at 10:57 AM

my choice would be my 2m airea raptor. 40 mph winds is where it starts to behave.macboy - 26-8-2011 at 12:41 PM
Hell, in 60MPH Rip's underwear would be enough to catch the wind. And yes, I'm referring to his pink thong!shehatesmyhobbies - 26-8-2011 at 02:37 PM
During the winter storms, a lot of sand moved all the way up the beach! Wildwood is being evacuated today in anticipation of 6- 8 storm surge. That
would put the water up over the breach wall and downtown. My guess is tons and tons of sand will be moved inland and expose more storm drainage. Like
I said, I will check out the damage after the storm. They were still fixing the beach in the spring after last winter storms. Hopefully all will be
well!sunset-Jim - 26-8-2011 at 04:24 PM
I should had been more specific damn it. I was wanting such a storm, but over here. Such storms level out our 14 mi stretch of beach and pack it
down nicely. Best wishes for the other coast. :dunno:Bladerunner - 26-8-2011 at 04:42 PM
Here's Markus doing his best with what he had in similar conditions.

@joecat - Our thoughts and prayers go with you as you hunker down for this storm. Stay safe, but if you can, please keep us advised as to how "our"
beach fares through this mess. TIA, Bobshehatesmyhobbies - 27-8-2011 at 01:50 PM
Ditto on Bob's post! Be safe Joe and all the NJ coast flying brothers!shehatesmyhobbies - 27-8-2011 at 05:11 PM
NJ Local news says the water in Wildwood is up to the pier! That is a lot of water and a lot of beach covered up! Keeping my fingers crossed it
doesn't get too bad over there!jellis - 27-8-2011 at 06:39 PM
Eli would and has flown with those winds and got it on a gopro, Brad and Man have the video.WELDNGOD - 28-8-2011 at 06:03 AM
Problem is Jon, it's not a steady wind .It is filthy dirty, turbs and such. Reads like this 47,36,52,7,41,59,41,32,12,53 mph,in 20 seconds. What kind
of kite can fly in that lumpy mess?Seanny - 28-8-2011 at 08:48 AM
I wish WE could have a hurricane. Send it over my way next time!joecat - 28-8-2011 at 07:13 PM
Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response....I was hiding out in Philadelphia for the weekend,,,,I would have actually stayed here for the hurricane
but I was traveling back from D.C. on Friday night and could not get back to the area........anyway, the storm was not as bad as they thought it would
have been,,,,, which was good. I actually went to the beach today,,,,North Beach, that was,,,,and it at high tide was pretty close to the
street,,,,it may have taken some of that sand,,,,I will get a better look at low tide tomorrow,,,,,North Wildwood did not really loose any beach and
Im pretty sure our main stomping grounds is unharmed.....but I will confirm and report back,,,,I think we are good.joecat - 28-8-2011 at 07:13 PM
Thanks for the well wishes also....joecat - 28-8-2011 at 07:15 PM
I was also glad to see that the trailer that we just purchased for the Wildwood CAtholic High School Power Kite Club did not get damaged at
all,,,,with the predictions of the storm I thought for sure I was going to come back and find it on its side and destroyed but no damage at all,,,it
didnt even move...flyjump - 28-8-2011 at 07:28 PM
whoop whoop chickenloop! thats good news LBJ!Todd - 28-8-2011 at 09:39 PM

Really great to hear! Glad everything is OK!WELDNGOD - 29-8-2011 at 07:33 AM
awesome news Joe! Maybe some sand got piled up on those drain jettys, so this doesn't happen again http://vimeo.com/16967545.Todd - 29-8-2011 at 01:20 PM
I really wish that would happen Donnie but I feel those are days of the past.
