What's a good kite to get started with? I don't want to spend too much but I do want to be able to get a decent amount of air. Thanks.

Matty,
Blades are a good kite for air. don't buy a large size though! they can bite!
If you want air, I DO NOT recommend a Bullet. I have one and it's one hell of a challenge to get it to lift you, but it does pull like a train.
I'm going to write an article soon on the best kites for beginners for my site, so I'll post it on the forum when it's written. I have to do research
first though.

Well I ordered a 1.45m Radsail before I posted this since I wanted a kite for spring break which is in like 10 days. I'm not looking for huge air,
5ft would probably be fine. Will I be able to get even that? I don't need huge air though because like I said I'm a beginner and I've never flown
one of these kites before and I don't want to get more than I can handle.

Actually I just got outbid so I'm open to suggestions. I don't really want to spend more than $100, looking to spend about $50 for my first kite.

5 ft is pretty good air for a beginner. Thats my most common size. When I go out to jump usually 4-6ft is average. Sometimes get up to 8. Very
rarely 10+.
Honestly, for less than $100.00 your probably not going to get any air at all unless you just happen onto an old blade 1 or 2 on ebay for somewhere
around $100.
I dont want to discourage you, but here is the best similarity I can think of-
you want to race nascar, and dont want to spend any more than $30,000 on a car, where engines on those things come in at $100,000 plus.
Keep your eyes open and hope you run by a good deal.

I am also new and you won't fly for a hundred dollars. I think you need to read more first before you try to jump.

another beginner here... im looking for a decent kite that can get me the most lift for around $300. i have found two kites different kites and want
an opinion before i buy. A ballistic 4.9 or a HQ Beamer III. Other kite suggestions are also welcome.

For lift, a flexi blade or maybe a ozone haka/riot. The blade keeps its value for years so when you want a new kite, just sell the blade.

thanx dankachewy, but im a little short on cash i have only around 300$. Has any one had experience on a Beamer III 5.0m or a Ballistic 4.9m.

The Beamer III and Buster II are both decent starter kites, stable and freindly, both will lift when you start bringing them out towards the higher
end of their wind range. Probably two of the best kites to start with, both will do you for well into the intermediate stages.
