Oops hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag.....BeamerBob - 30-8-2011 at 05:38 PM
Oh yes! Friends coming to play at the local playground!
I actually do have some weekends coming up that I'll be a bachelor and we could host something. Everyone notice that Goof's dates are Monday thru
Friday, coinciding with his work trip! The real fun is going to be on Saturday I bet!g00fba11 - 30-8-2011 at 05:42 PM
Oops.... I meant through the 8th on the dates......Drewculous - 30-8-2011 at 07:02 PM

Make sure you let everyone know at the park. I work 4-6 but will come out to camp after that...weather permitting. If its still to hot it will just be
in the afternoon. Maybe camping at lake mojave and driving to ivanpah straight from the lake.BeamerBob - 19-9-2011 at 07:35 PM
G00f ball's joke could turn out to have a bunch of us riding together! I hope this actually gets some traction with a bunch of us.g00fba11 - 19-9-2011 at 07:55 PM
Joke..... what joke...... I was serious.......
The only joke part is renting out the rooms at your house......:bouncy:
Just don't forget to mark this on your calendar Bobby...... this is an annual event!!!!!dman - 20-9-2011 at 04:48 PM
I could bet I could make it down for Friday to Sunday and camp on the Playa.greasehopper - 20-9-2011 at 05:08 PM
At FBBT, there was some discussion about the need for an Oct. playa event. After a U2U with Bob, I was ready to throw in with this deal and commit to
playing sherpa/night watchdog for a few days out on the playa. Turns of my other addiction (dirt circle track racing) is now scheduled right over top
of it Saturday night. I tried this scenario at FBBT and it was a real buzz kill so I'm gonna have to bow out this time around.
I'm gonna have to build and learn to fly an "X model" rotary wing so I can commute back and forth.Donaldgould - 26-9-2011 at 07:55 PM
The 8th is out for me that is me baby's 7th brithday .sorry g00fba11 - 1-10-2011 at 02:38 PM

Chet, if your lurking contact Bobby......dman - 2-10-2011 at 06:18 AM
Keep us posted on the conditions, I am planning on heading down there Thursday or friday to camp. Anyone want to join me and the boy for some Playa
camping?BeamerBob - 2-10-2011 at 08:27 AM
I just realized I didn't get a renewed permit from BLM. My current one expired yesterday like everyone elses. I'll have to ping Elaine tomorrow and
see. There are 3 other lakes that are even closer if I can't get clearance. Yes, BBQ tonight on G00f and beer on me.ripsessionkites - 2-10-2011 at 05:51 PM
ill be in LV on Oct 10 to 13, dunno if i will have time to ride.Wolfpaklv - 2-10-2011 at 06:27 PM
as long as you have your old permit they will not give you a hard time.BeamerBob - 2-10-2011 at 06:51 PM
That's good to know. I'll give Elaine a call tomorrow to get the new one on the way.dman - 3-10-2011 at 06:07 AM
I'm in the same boat with the permit. Who is Elaine?thrash - 3-10-2011 at 06:20 AM
My new permit came in the mail, on its own last week. I did nothing but call and request one for last year. Auto renewal?? Elaine works for the BLM.BeamerBob - 3-10-2011 at 07:09 AM
The one that just expired was automatically sent. I asked about renewal in a site report I sent in but forgot about it and didn't get a response.
BBQ and face to face with G00fball was awesome last night! Hoping to fly in the 15mph winds this afternoon.dman - 3-10-2011 at 11:03 AM
Just spoke with Elaine and got my new permit sorted out. Apparently there has been a few issues with renewal permits and she is having trouble
contacting people. I failed to fill out the site visit use report that helps her keep us up to date for contact info and such. She wold love have
current email address for all who use the Playa so she could email site conditions and closure notices out to us.
Her email addy is edowning@blm.gov or you can call and verbally give her your info at 760-326-7000.BeamerBob - 3-10-2011 at 11:13 AM
I called her this morning too. She is helpful and courteous as always. I've told her so every time I've spoken to her as well. It's like she exists
to help us out, not limit and control us. I had not updated my address with her and she didn't see where I mentioned it in a use report I turned in.
She has all my info updated now, and sent me an email to print for clearance till my real permit makes it here in the mail. All sorted now.AD72 - 3-10-2011 at 11:16 AM
Please don't dirty up that pretty venom 8M.BeamerBob - 3-10-2011 at 11:41 AM
I have a tarp that I can attempt to launch from to keep it off the playa. g00fba11 - 3-10-2011 at 08:05 PM
Had a great time at the bbq....
Lucille's was a great place to share some stories with beamerbob. I wish others could have joined us
T-storms and a long day setting up at the convention center made today a no fly day....
I am looking forward to a go another day......Todd - 3-10-2011 at 08:18 PM
Sorry to have missed you by a day but will catch up with you for sure at the WBB!BeamerBob - 3-10-2011 at 10:21 PM
This weekend is setting up to have me on a dry lakebed. Ivanpah if these rains don't soften it up.awindofchange - 4-10-2011 at 03:28 PM
I am going to be out this Friday and Saturday if the weather cooperates. Looks fairly good thus far from the forecasts. See ya there Bobby!Wolfpaklv - 4-10-2011 at 06:48 PM
Might be there, but there is a big show in town that called for a jib. Hope to be at Ivanpah but if all goes well with negotiations I will be working.
This is one client I can't turn down!BeamerBob - 4-10-2011 at 10:20 PM
I'm still wide open on Saturday and the moon is getting bright, so we'll stay late if the wind keeps blowing.Wolfpaklv - 5-10-2011 at 07:58 AM
Yes...full moon kiting. Its on.dman - 6-10-2011 at 10:23 AM
What is the condition of the Playa? We got hammered with rain up here in Southern Utah for the last couple days. Don't want to drive down if it's
gonna be closed.BeamerBob - 6-10-2011 at 10:29 AM
We had lots of rain here in Vegas/Henderson the last few days as well. I'm hoping for the best and heading down Saturday am unless I hear otherwise.
I can post on facebook good or bad, but can't get to pkf from the lakebed. Kent and others were going down on Friday so we might get a report
tomorrow.lucky_13 - 6-10-2011 at 11:32 AM
hi all .. this might sound dumb but is this open for anyone to come and check out.. im new so forgive me :duh:BeamerBob - 6-10-2011 at 12:30 PM
The look of organization is just because G00fball trumped it up with a name and everything. Many of the locals have been talking about going out to
Ivanpah on Friday and Saturday. I'm planning on going out on Saturday am for the day. The whole bunch is friendly and helpful, so you would be
welcome to join us. The trick is going out on Ivanpah without a permit and not being sure there are folks out there with one that you could join up
with. The risk is that recent rains have left it damp and no one has been onsite yet to know current conditions. This should become clear tomorrow.Wolfpaklv - 6-10-2011 at 02:26 PM
Lucky 13...your always welcome to come. As beamer bob said you need a permit for the dry lake which is free. If you don't have one you must be there
with someone that has one. That being said my friends and I are down there pretty frequently. So feel free to conact us and come hang out. Most of us
locals are very friendly and always looking for more people to share the experience with. Reach out to me via email @ wolfpaklv@hotmail.com anytime
you are in the area. If I am unavailable to go I can atleast reach out to the locals and see if anyone else will be out there. That goes for anyone
that happens to stumble across this post.Wolfpaklv - 6-10-2011 at 03:23 PM
Just a heads up, be careful about calling this an event. It is free to have a meetup but if you post it on the web the BLM considers it an event and
will charge us a fee to be there.awindofchange - 6-10-2011 at 07:30 PM
This surely is not an event, just a meet up of all the locals. Weather is finally cooling off and we're all craving some serious buggy / camping time
again! Full moon this weekend too so that is always a plus. Just hope the rain these last couple days hasn't soaked the playa.
Oh...and anyone who would like to join us is always welcome. BYOB!BeamerBob - 6-10-2011 at 07:36 PM
Correct. No tshirts. No attendee list. Just whoever shows up on their own. And yes, all are welcome if we are able to get out there.awindofchange - 7-10-2011 at 12:08 PM
Oh...and no 100$ Entry fee!g00fba11 - 7-10-2011 at 11:10 PM
Also.... The BBBB..... Ended today as you can also see by the above listed dates.....
So the gathering of like minded kiters is over......BeamerBob - 8-10-2011 at 12:56 AM
We tried to get a ride in on Eldorado Lake, but got skunked. G00f got a few runs in before i got there, but with the sun going down, it faded away.
Great guy, and hope to get to ride next time you're in G00f!Wolfpaklv - 8-10-2011 at 08:45 AM
Yea I visited Ivanpah just to be sure. It will be wet till next week, atleast.
=(BeamerBob - 8-10-2011 at 09:19 AM
I got a report last night that says there are wet spots at the entrance but fine everywhere else. I'm heading down in the next hour or so.g00fba11 - 8-10-2011 at 06:13 PM
I had a great time and finally got to meet up with beamerbob...... great guy.... had lots of fun..... also got to swing by and meet up with Kent at
his shop, another great guy and had a super time chatting it up with him..... lots of cool stuff in his shop just got added to the wish list.....
Thanks Bobby..... Thanks Kent......
I did manage to pull a little video together while I was down there..... I need to do some special editing and then I will get it posted up......
I had a terrible time with the flights home........ delays.....BeamerBob - 9-10-2011 at 09:49 AM
Yes G00f it was great to meet you this past week. BKFFs! I must say I'm nervous about any video you might put together!g00fba11 - 9-10-2011 at 02:33 PM
Here it is..... the first video from the first annual BBBB......
702dirtsurfer - 9-10-2011 at 08:00 PM
You seen ol' Capt. Ron out at Eldo at all? (We always called it mud lake)BeamerBob - 10-10-2011 at 11:20 AM
Didn't see anyone near where we were, but there were people camped and set up for longer than just a visit. It shows as Eldorado on the map, and
didn't know it went by another name. It's attractive since I can be there in 20 minutes instead of 45 to Ivanpah. Great when you only have 2-3 hours
to ride.Bigbear97e - 10-10-2011 at 11:55 AM
BeamerBob ... just looking at google maps ... does anyone buggy at the small dry lake behind Jean, Nevada airport ??? what about the boulder city side
by the big solar powerplant??BeamerBob - 10-10-2011 at 12:27 PM
I have heard of people buggying at Jean and Roach (on south a bit) but I haven't myself, just recently settling in and enjoying the cooler weather.
The one by the solar plant near Boulder City is what I referred to as Eldorado Lake but is also known as "Mud Lake".FacePlant - 10-10-2011 at 01:54 PM
BeamerBob, is that another joke from the g00fba11 or did you really see all those girls? Now I know the truth why we could not meet when I was in
Las Vegas. :DBeamerBob - 10-10-2011 at 03:51 PM
That's actually footage of the trade show goof was here to attend. If he says it, and it seems a bit funny, expect that it is something other that
the plain truth. Gotta love him though. g00fba11 - 10-10-2011 at 04:58 PM
Awwww shucks...... your making me blush...... :embarrased:
Are you saying I'm a story teller???
Never loan your memory stick to a geek!!! :oBeamerBob - 10-10-2011 at 05:29 PM
Story teller and prankster extraordinaire!g00fba11 - 10-10-2011 at 07:00 PM
Hey FacePlant...... I like your avatar.....
I will have to try some when I find a place to buy it......
Bigbear97e...the dry lake bed between jean and primm called roach dry lake is off limits. The blm will fine you for riding there. The dry lake between
jean and vegas is called jean lake and is moderate for wind. However it uually gets dusted out by atv's. Its not worth it though considering ivapah is
only about 15 miles from there and protected for wind powered vehicles.
