Tig,
Getting to Ivanpah is one thing.
Finding the nabx site is the tough part.
Ivanpah Dry Lake is accessed only one way.
Exit 1 at Primm.
East side of the freeway, turn right and pass in front of the casino and Outlet Mall. The road circles the perimeter of the property and after you
pass the mini-mart (on the right), as the road bends, there will be a dirt road on the right, through a gate in the fence, out onto the lakebed.
It is posted "Authorized Entry Only" and other things.
Speed Limit on the playa is 30 mph.
Faster speeds raise a ton of dust.
Please slow down.
Stay to the left of the markers.
We don't drive in the ruts as it only makes them deeper.
The nabx site will be difficult to find.
It will be a large pavillion-type tent.
Surrounded by upwards of 300 people.
All their cars and trucks.
Couple hundred buggies too.
Out on the edge of a flat, barren desert dry lake.
Tons of kites in the sky.
20-30 camps in buggytown.
About 3-4 miles down along the lake shore.
I'll fly a flag so you'll recognize us.
Safen Up! Buggy On!
