Hey now, those 18m with a high AR sure did remind me of a phanny....some dinosaurs are still useful!

On the fatsands dvd one of the guys flys one of those crazy high ar leis..... Hell it looks 50' long and 1.5' wide at the middle.... Hooj!

Cool vid tho! Very cliff-notes-esq!

Kamikuza - 2-9-2011 at 06:42 PM

Phanny is like a coelacanth - still able to make it in the modern world.

That's the one free - know it if I see it but can't remember it :D

My how quickly technology has changed. Nostalgic clip though, I think I've flown every kite in that video. Some were real dogs while others were pretty good at the time.

Heck, I have seen people flying all the kites that were in the 5th line section...in the past year.

It's funny to see the 2line LEI's back now, though. I dug the little history lesson. Would love to see one that tried to cover foils!

"Would love to see one that tried to cover foils!"

I still have a training video someplace that shows you how to change the "vent intakes" (aka condoms) on an old foil. Them's were the good ol' days. ;)
