Flysurfer Speed2.5 19 is SOLD

Kamikuza - 8-9-2011 at 03:56 PM

Yes, my own "cable-park-in-a-bag" is on the chopping block.
Reason for sale - I've just bought a Speed3 21 :D

No holes or rips or repairs EXCEPT for the repair on an internal rib I think I told you about last year.
It was repaired professionally by John at powerzonekitesports.com who said "it's nice to work on a FSer in such good condition" :D and believes his repair is as strong, if not stronger, than the original. The repair is totally invisible - I know where it is but I can't even see it.
While it was with John, I got him to give it a thorough inspection, give it a custom tune, replace the mixer Spare Parts Line with his superior SPL and fit an FDS kit.
All zippers work great (including on the bag!) and I've kept them that way with occasional light applications of SailKote.

What you get is ...
Speed2 19 Silver Arrow in the 2.5 cloth - stronger and more durable.
Speed2 bar with Ozone Megatron chicken loop ...
Maximum low end with 27m lines (12+6+3 = 21m regular FSer length lines and then 6m extensions on the flying lines and FDS).
FDS kit installed (and spare FDS line from FSer - 12+6m I think)
A bunch of spares including - FLS parts, Spare Parts Line kit, depower rope, repair swatches and a few other bits'n'pieces.
And the bag of course :D

I paid 1,600 Euro for it last year in September :o by my count, I've put 30 sessions on it in that time ...

US$1,000 plus a donation of $50 towards shipping.

tridude - 8-9-2011 at 04:47 PM

someone told me you were selling and I told them this would be a great buy...........................good luck on the sale!

AD72 - 8-9-2011 at 04:59 PM

How do you know it is one cloth over the other? Mine looks the same.

Kamikuza - 8-9-2011 at 05:11 PM

Slight whoops ... I though I clicked "Post Preview" :barf:

Kite is under dibs ... hold the phone! :)

AD72 - the square pattern of the cloth ... I forget what the rules & details are, but I did check it when I first got the kite and it's the "better" material ...

dandre - 8-9-2011 at 05:14 PM

how do you fly this kite without killing yourself?
I'm so scared what I'm going to do to myself when this addiction goes critical :ticking:

Hopefully when I buy my glider in the spring.... Things will get better?? Right?

Kamikuza - 8-9-2011 at 05:22 PM

You don't put it up in more than 20 knots :D

It'll fly in 2 knots but will need to be worked. It's stable enough to park it at about 4, 6 knots is total control and you little skinny buggers should be able to ride. 8 knots and I'm riding upwind enough to jump once each tack, 10 and I'm having a great time. 16 knots I get a smaller board and if it's gusty I get a smaller kite. On average :D summer winds don't have the grunt of winter - I think good dense air is worth 2 knots on the bottom for riding ...

tridude - 8-9-2011 at 06:33 PM

5 mph wind in a buggy and youll easily hit 25 plus miles per hour...................8mph on a Spleene Door or directional and your upwind on water..............10 mph and youre boosting 10 foot jumps.......................this kite has best low end out there for 19m FSers..................hence the 21m S3
on ice/snow riding skiis, forum member secondwind hit 40 mph in 6/7 mph wind............................at JIBE 2010 I was the first one out and upwind on my 19m SA2 with only one buggy session prior to the event...................later that afternoon I was the only one out on the water................

AD72 - 8-9-2011 at 06:56 PM

I think of it as insurance for a kiteable day. On Tuesday I left mine at home because the previous 3 days I missed were in the 20s. Of course there was barely any wind when I show up and could have flown the SA. Instead I did not kite and it was a wasted hour and a half of drive. That will be the last time I don't bring mine.

Kamikuza - 8-9-2011 at 07:07 PM

When you're The Fattest Kiteboarder in Japan™ you do NOT leave this kite at home. I learned the hard way too ... once :D

I can't believe Arkay hasn't chimed in. He is looking and will kick himself for not logging in today.

truman - 9-9-2011 at 07:16 AM

what does a speed 3 21 go for these days I am selling my quad to get a decent kite

Kamikuza - 9-9-2011 at 07:43 AM

I've seen two recently for $2,000 ... they won't last long though. They're usually closer to 3k - most of the ones coming up for sale seem to be in Europe, and the prices are usually close to 2,000 EURO ... exchange rate to US$ sucks :(

truman - 9-9-2011 at 08:09 AM

I have also been considering the charger 19m trying to keep price to $1500 US to bad I haven't sold the quad or I would have taken a shot at your kite.

Kamikuza - 9-9-2011 at 04:53 PM
