World Record - Fastest LEI in a buggy - Cambersands UK - Tuesday 6th September - 66.0mph :wee:

Video quality is poor as was the weather unfortunately. Worlds fastest LEI in a buggy

Given a thread title of "World record - Fattest person in a buggy", I was expecting to see some sumo buggy racing.

Cool vid, but I still want to see the sumo racers.

Got me too!!:tumble:

Ok for all you who got hoodwinked, here's my 6'5", 475lb buddy riding my Flexi-Lynn Lounger... He got pulled out and spanked using my Blurr 5m. Course, I was flying a 3.5 that day and had a great ride!! Don't let size stop ya!

Dang, I'd of liked to seen the kite launch!!! That would make your heart skip a beat or two. I wonder what size kite he was using?
BTW, I was thinking Sumo also. Even if it said "fastest" it would be misleading since it was fasted with and LEI!

BeamerBob - 13-9-2011 at 12:15 PM

It was a 7m and he said he should've had a 5m. Ya think? I was expecting to see some spillage over the siderails myself. I wonder if this is the fastest with any depower in a buggy, and not just an LEI. Popeye, I guess anything over 100 kph requires some sort of write up so you would know at least among those that have let you know.

Leojim - 13-9-2011 at 12:44 PM

Upon further examination of the video page I see it was indeed 7m. YIKES!!!! Might of been a weeeee bit overpowered. Bad enough just trying to handle the kite in that wind, but at 66 mph if anything goes wrong - well give new meaning to OBE :puzzled:

That's pretty impressive for the Blurr. Do you have an idea of what the winds were like that day? Was the buggy already in motion or did he just get yanked from a dead stop?

Reading that reminded me of one of my "favorite" Bullet videos:

I don't remember the wind but it was gusty. Anyone who flies at OOBE Field learns to appreciate a good spanking!! I was riding my 3.5 Blurr so probably around 15+. He was shaking out the kite from a launch and got hit by a gust. Yanked right up and over the side, buggy flipped on top of him. I fly Flexi Extreme lines on all my Flexis and it all held up great. He might have anticipated the spanking with more practice but he wasnt too upset. We both had a good laugh.

I keep looking at this thread title when I'm tired (like now) and a part of my brain goes "Wha-aaa ... I don't remember ever being in a buggy?!?" :o
