I have a couple of locals that I just got hooked into kiting. They've been flying for a couple of months and they are taking to it really quickly.
My buddy franko started on a 12m LEI and just recently is wanting to switch because he hates pumping.
He's looking into picking up a used flysurfer speed2 or 3. He has 600-1000 to spend depending on the kite and its condition. he wants me to check it
out for him since he doesn't know much about kite condition and crispyness
anybody have any speeds in 12m-19m out there?indigo_wolf - 13-9-2011 at 07:23 AM
Jon currently has two listed on his site that are at both ends of the spectrum of what your friend is looking for.
Depending on how much he is willing to wiggle on price or model, either or neither might be a fit for him.
Either way, I thought it was worth sticking a Post-It on the radar screen.

thanks for the info, i'll pass it on to franko. I know that he doesn't want the speed1 because of some review that he read, and i know for a fact
that his max budget is 1000$ lol. he ownes his own electrical company which is small, i don't think he has a lot of extra cash to throw around. I'm
trying to get him to create a pkf account, so i was hoping that somebody on here would have something for sale, cause that way he'd see how reliable
and safe pkf is.indigo_wolf - 13-9-2011 at 07:52 AM
My understanding was that the 1.5 mod took the kite a to reasonable proximity of the Speed 2.
Might be a reasonable was to dip toes given the price. Either way, I think your friend could probably benefit greatly from a conversation with Jon
just to get his bearings on Flysurfers, what he's flown and where he's headed.

The Wolf is correct re the 1.5 mod. At least that is my understanding.
If nothing turns up let me know. I've got some redundancy in the 12-13m range and the Speed could go but it's freshly tuned by Powerzone and I'd kinda
like to fly it to get to know a well tuned unit. That, and I'd feel obligated to replace the pulleys before selling so that'd take time.
If your guy's in a rush this'd be a no-go but it'd certainly be at the bottom (or below) his budget.nocando - 13-9-2011 at 11:24 PM
