Weld - I am guessing that is a self creation? the bars to the side act as skid's when you lean over to far?

Flexi-Foot!

Flexi side rails and extended wide axle, Pl Seat, PL front end and down tube. Pl Big Foot tires. BeamerBob back rest and side rail covers by Kitemaker4. Not too heavy to throw in the truck and a very comfy ride.

snowspider - 14-9-2011 at 06:23 AM

I've got my unconventional speed buggy in the gallery but have'nt taken the time to post my others.

Yeah, Pokite and I did the Flexi Lynn conversions at about the same time. I actually bought yellow material to make pad covers with and then found out Pokite had done the same thing. So I shifted to some Kitemaker4 black covers. I made 3 backrests at the same time. 1 went for my buggy that Drew has, the other went to Pokites, and a third went to Angus for his then PL bigfoot that tridude trucks along in now.

Absolutely! It is the dual purpose buggy/bike that I built. Here it is in its buggy form....

And the skids are for when stopping. It will rub the bottom of the siderails and destroy the pads.. They have been replaced w/ landboard wheels now, so there is less friction when you go all the way over, the skids had too much drag.

My own private Ivanpah.

Made in the USA

Heavy buggy weighing in at just under 100lbs. Strong and steady.

It lacks adjustable rear end and articulated side bars . Heel straps footpegs to come.

Less expensive than some Euro buggies. Works with Barrows to Big Foot.

Nice buggy Greasehopper. I will be using my land sailer without mast and sail to buggy with. Well, try to buggy with. Last time I tried to buggy I just couldn't get the hang of it. But, never fear by the end of the weekend, I will get it down.

Jaymz - 20-9-2011 at 07:37 PM

Just picked up a Libre on a barter deal. About 4--5 years old but shows little use. Bigfoots are new on AL wheels. And a set of barrows. Anyone know what model this is? Alot heavier then the PL and has the adjustable camber on the rear. Wheelbase is 9" longer and 5" wider then my PL Bigfoot.
Got the buggy, a 14m Gin Eskimo, and an 8.5m Gin Eskimo for a standup jetski that has been sitting since I started kiting. Good deal for both of us. He has a house on a lake.

Shakedown run will be this weekend @ ChezzeBall :singing::singing:

Bladerunner - 21-9-2011 at 06:40 AM

I could be wrong but I think that is a Supr Truck?

Sure looks like " Bigfoot Betty " Pablo's old ride. I'm sure He said it was a Super Truck but not sure that is the model?

kiteboyza - 21-9-2011 at 07:19 AM

super truck had a swan neck, didnt it, this one has a straight neck

sunset-Jim - 21-9-2011 at 07:43 AM

It appears to be a full race with an older style BF fork added on. A nice looking ride that has some great upgrades available.

bobalooie57 - 21-9-2011 at 07:44 AM

Posted this one before, but here it is again in all its greenness, my Mean Green Machine. Its a PL Comp Std, barrow wheels, and custom backrest. I've had it 3 years now, and bought it used here on the forum. Other than a bent fork bolt, I've had no issues with it, and I get quite a bit of riding in.

Jaymz check those rims for cracks around the hub. The guy that made them used the wrong material and it was too soft.
Jim is right, it is a full race with an upgrade moonlight fork. Nice setup.

Thanks for the heads up Jon. Checked the wheels and all look good. I'll keep an eye out.
Still waiting to get the chance to ride the Libre.
Recently installed the barrows for a planned tarmac session. The front axle/spacer was hell to remove with a big hammer and dowel. Cleaned and greased the axle.

Now if we could just get a DRY Sat/Sun with wind :puzzled:

swyper - 8-10-2011 at 02:35 PM

Just scored my first buggy today. Got it off the local Kijiji for $200. Aluminum, custom built, light as a feather. Guy didn't want it taking up space in his garage anymore!

Only thing that needs work is the seat...

cheezycheese - 8-10-2011 at 03:15 PM

Cool looking buggy swyper...!!

silvereaglekiter - 8-10-2011 at 03:47 PM

Newly rebuilt for the 2011 fall buggy season (thanks WG )
longer side rails make a nice place to put stuff :spin:

rocfighter - 8-10-2011 at 03:59 PM

Looks like you now need a VanTanTech seat!!

swyper - 8-10-2011 at 05:05 PM

Yeah what are my options for seat replacements, and are these things expensive?
Or are there some plans to make one somewhere, I might try to ghetto one over the long Alberta winter...

rocfighter - 8-10-2011 at 05:39 PM

Swyper If you go to Van's site I think he has plans for seats there. But I have no idea what seats cost.

Bigbear97e - 8-10-2011 at 06:45 PM

swyper ... did you grab any of the kites that guy had???

Another option for seat is www.buggybags.co.uk ....
don't know what shipping costs are like from UK, but he has templates on his site for the different buggy brands that you can paint and he then makes your custom color seat..... they do some real good work .... done some for PTW buggies too

Rocfighter ... got any pics of that Vmaxx you beat by a half hour on??

swyper - 10-10-2011 at 08:09 PM

hey bigbear, nope I didnt get the kite, it was a Beamer 5m but he wanted 350 for it. I'm sure he'll probably relist the kite by itself on kijiji, his garage looked like it was overflowing

Gonna see if I can get a used seat first...surely someone must want to upgrade their seat!

van - 10-10-2011 at 08:35 PM

Swyper, I got a couple seats that I made and use for testing purpose that would work well. Basically there's nothing wrong with them. I just used them once or twice on a buggy for demo purpose so can't sell them as new. $40 plus shipping would take care of it.

swyper - 10-10-2011 at 09:28 PM

Right on van! u2u sent..

soulflyr - 14-10-2011 at 12:33 PM

This is an old Libre V-Max. I think I was the third owner back in 99. Today it has a fresh gloss-blue powdercoat and equiped with a new VanTech BW seat, rail pads, and splash guard.

Shoudl be good for another 15 years!

van - 14-10-2011 at 04:27 PM

The seat comes off easy so make sure to take if off each session and give it a good cleaning and store it inside. I rinse mine off with a garden hose to get all the sand off and then just hang it up to dry. Good as new the next day!!

Bigbear97e - 23-10-2011 at 02:25 PM

bump ... let's see some more rides

jellis - 24-10-2011 at 10:59 AM

Van has the deal on seats at a great price.

lamrith - 24-10-2011 at 11:26 AM

Anyone mind if I ask some basic buggy 101 questions?

I am wondering why the rear axles are put so far behind the seat? Is it just to offer longer WB incase the kit gets behind you a bit so you do not flip backwards?

I could just see moving the seat back toward the rear axle for us tall guys to still have a short wheels base that handles quicker? I think for some of us that are not heavy fabricators, it might be easier to build with a seat location farther back as well? though it would put more load on those back wheels..?:puzzled:

WELDNGOD - 24-10-2011 at 11:38 AM

you need your weight near the center for stability. If you get load up the rear ,you make it easier to slide your front end around.

cheezycheese - 24-10-2011 at 11:47 AM

Longer wheelbase will give you more stability.
Edit - what he said ^^^

I have the Dust Devil too. Great bug! I replaced the front forks with the forks from a T3 to allow a BigFoot up front and Kenda BeachRacers on the back. Now it's the biggest small bug you can get with a tonne of ground clearance.

Some of those are a bit offshore.

It's been great weather here and I was bored so I thought I'd get the hose pipe out before they ban it and clean up the bugs.

I also swapped the disc wheels over from the T3. I've not used the Dominator with these wheels but I reckon it's going to be interesting.

No camber! I will just have to throw the kite behind me like a parachute to slow down.
