New stuff, leads to needed stuff

so i finally have some cameras.... i opted for some Tachyon microHDs... price was right, and the cameras have been hyped a bit, so i bit... i do like 'em, but i needed different cards than what i had laying around the house... so those are on order... on to software

any good reco's for *.mov editing? I was looking at Adobe Premier Elements 9 or Sony Creative Software Movie Studio HD Platinum Suite 11

im open to suggestions... i wouldnt mind being able to tweak the video more than just transitions and titles... adding some graphic play, maybe some odd ball graphics, sine waves, random color altering.... not sure lol

i actually saw this vid... and thought... ooooo that has some cool concepts, wouldnt mind adapting some to a kite film....

they obviously have a WAY better program than i need/want, but still pretty cool

im going to be bouncing some footage off disaster drew too, hopefully i can get some footage that makes me look good

Sony 11 is pretty nice package, I used the demo to do some video work back in July. I am not video editor, but was able to figure it out. They have a 30 day demo.

You may want to look at I think Sony 10 pro though. There is a multi camera mix ability that is only in the V10pro. It makes it a couple clicks to sequence and crossfade simultaneuous video feeds once you have them synched. Very usefull if you run 50 cameras at once recording like some people (cough todd)..

Here is a link comparing the versions, you can also DL demo from this site:

I had 2 camera's running for my July show. One kept randomly going into autofocus hunt mode. BUT when it was in focus it was a better angle and sharper image. So I had to splice the footages together while maintaining the audio synchronized. The vegas 10 pro demo did it super easy. But OUCH $$$!! I let the demo expire, not sure what I will do next year

so, sony over adobe?

I wish i had $500-700 to blow on editing software, but no... vegas looks sweet tho!

I'll have to get some demos and just try them out i guess.... WG, you have an old copy of Vegas you want to get rid of?
