1st Snow, 1st Frost

g00fba11 - 15-9-2011 at 11:04 AM

On the way home from Duluth yesterday I drove through my first snow of the season. It melted right away and you couldnt call it a snow storm, but it was snow. They also reported the snow on the news last night.

Woke up this morning to the first hard frost of the season. I didnt want to go to work. The wind was blowin and this fresh frosty surface would have been a blast to skud around on.

I am so stoked..... No more allergies....and the snow she's a comin'.....

Well, we've broken into lows in the 60s! Highs are comfy mid 90s still. No problem there.

Hopefully, I will see you next week Bobby.....

I am wairing for confirmation. So far next week is Denver and Salt Lake City....waiting to confirm Vegas....

Sun showers followed by heavy thunder activity followed by gully washers with localized flooding. Luckily got all the windows shut before it got too bad. Good day for paper boats.

The troll princess is terrified and running around the house looking for places to hide. Burrowed in blankets right now.

ATB,
Sam

So this doesn't replace your big job here but is just a short extra visit? You'll have to be searched before you clear out of here. I know you have your eye on a few things on the kite shelf!

Kamikuza - 15-9-2011 at 05:40 PM

WTH - we're still having to sleep with the air-con on cos it's over 30'C :o

Midgaar - 15-9-2011 at 07:07 PM

Huh, we didn't even get frost last night G00f. I was all for the snow coming but now I ordered a set of Powerslides I'm hoping it holds off a little while longer. Just until I can play with them a little bit. I'll bring them to IL with me so everyone can get a chance to play with them, shoe size cooperating.

Beamerbob, I see you have the Toxics, nice. Have you had a run on the new Matrixx yet?

g00fba11 - 15-9-2011 at 07:15 PM

@midgaar it will be great to at least see a set of them...... post some video of your first go with them..... don't edit the bloopers...... that's how we learn......

beamerbob is listing his son's kites on his signature...... he sold all his kites to me...... except for his recent RII sale......

dandre - 15-9-2011 at 07:24 PM

Sooo cozy under the covers,
merino wool on my 4am walks to the hotel to steal coffee.

<3333 winter

g00fba11 - 15-9-2011 at 07:27 PM

ah yes....merino wool..... the most comfy socks made......

AD72 - 15-9-2011 at 08:28 PM

Bobby didn't sell his 10M Syn to you. Did he?

g00fba11 - 15-9-2011 at 09:19 PM

@AD72.... nope.... he pulled that one back just before I did.... he still has that one stashed with his Phantoms.....

I was just trying to get a rise out of Bobby....

I am hoping to fill him up with enough Killian's so he will sell me his 18m Phantom when I am in Vegas here soon.....

Maybe I will take him downtown to Numb and get him numb......or at least he would be so distracted by the scenery there he'd sell me the 18m without realizing what he did.......

kiteboyza - 15-9-2011 at 09:54 PM

sweet, been watching Marmot(Jasper) snow cams!

snowspider - 16-9-2011 at 07:27 AM

g00fba11 someone last year arround this time posted the earliest high speed run of the season on snow. It looked like a heavy frost to me. Whatever works absolutely applies!

thanson2001ok - 16-9-2011 at 07:54 AM

Snowkiting on a heavy frost... Now that's enthusiasm for the sport!:singing:

g00fba11 - 16-9-2011 at 09:08 AM

@snowspider..... drove through the light snow.... it melted ASAP when it hit the ground...... The next mornings frost would have been killer for some awesome skudding........

I wouldn't have broken out the skis or snowboard for the frost..... it didn't last long enough...... but ooohhh I could have set some long skud records..... it was slick......

It was just a teaser..... temps back up and no frost this AM......

dandre - 16-9-2011 at 07:04 PM
