They state it has "unique" flight characteristics... I'ld imagine that means it needs NPW-esque brake input to maintain leading edge inflation.
I don't imagine it's gonna set any records but, as proof of concept, this is just plain sexy !Kamikuza - 20-9-2011 at 08:12 PM
Hard to believe it flies eh ... dibs on NOT being the test pilot!!! :karate:greasehopper - 21-9-2011 at 04:39 AM
I think Dave Barish would be proud.
I'm with you on the "opt out" program. It's cool but it's gotta be spooky.bigkid - 21-9-2011 at 06:25 AM
I like the concept of single skin design, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm very interesting.Drewculous - 21-9-2011 at 06:45 AM
THAT IS NUTS!!!
no bottom skin eh? kinda cool! i bet that thing luffs like a mofo! With no bottom to retain air, its essentially a soft-wing... wow, im amazed that

"the current prototypes of the XXLite are somewhat “special” to fly"
lol, I bet they are! ...looks like a really neat design though.Minshall - 21-9-2011 at 04:09 PM
Heck I would give it a shot.pyro22487 - 21-9-2011 at 10:41 PM
Certify me and let me fly one please. Need a cliff though. hmmm cliffs in Oklahoma.csa_deadon - 22-9-2011 at 05:53 AM
Watch the video close. It looks like the leading edge actually wraps somewhat under.greasehopper - 22-9-2011 at 06:56 AM

Spot on, that's what I found most interesting. I doubt it would work well as a kite because I feel that feature would not behave well parked on the
deck with the brakes pinned but, it's got me re-thinking the shallow NPW nose.
