I am thinking about and " all in " in Costa Rica for my birthday in late Feb. early March. Fact is I know nothing about the place.
I am pretty sure it is kite surf friendly ? If I take a kite or 2 can I rent a board there ?
What is a good area to try and be ?
Are there hardpack beaches for ATB ?
Anything else I should know getting started?

According to Kitboarder Travel Guide there are 3 major spots
1. Bahina Salinas on border w/ Nicaragua ...... in December every day wind above 15 knots ..... airport in Tamarindo
2. Lake Arenal ..... more windsurfing the kiteboarding place .... however .... it is on a list with 40% of kite able days .....
3. Punta Saleas with 70% of wing 12-25mph
I am looking at Cabaret in DR for Jan-Feb ..... if you want to join me and Jaymz

hit up lake Nicaragua too. Very few kiters, strong constant wind, waves (yes waves in the lake), and I think there is one lady that has a kite school
there that just opened recently. It's about an hour from the boarder with Costa Rica.
