What are the members views on having tails on your kite?
I feel that it can add a bit of visual entertainment.

It is more of a visual thing. I am betting you will find most of the guys here, if it does not make the kite perform better or faster, they will
likely not use it :-p
Bunch of speed freaks! But this IS a power kite forum mostly centered around kites as a power source for motion specifically..
Flying static, I could see using a tail, but in a mobile applications, it is likely more of a hassle and one more thing to have to worry about
tangling..

I bought two very long tube tails for my 4.9 Blade. One on each side of the trailing edge. I thought it looked great and so did passers by.
When I get some money I'm going to buy myself the 200ft long Peter Lynn tube snake thing. Need a lifting kite but should be fun!
I've had a few kites by Martin Lester - a 14ft long scuba diver which would kick its legs as if swiming, a shark with moving tail and a Canada Goose
(which I still have) How old I'm I again!

Haha very nice redsky.
I have a few tails that were donated to me, I may try one or two on one of my smaller kites @ the beach...

Got 2 X 25' and 1X 50' called; transition tail from premier kite (white, red & black).
Fly it with FlyingWing SilverFox 2.5 with 115' Vector blue lines.
:wee:

I want naked lady tails that hold me aloft and tell me how big my kite is.
wheresthewind? - 11-10-2011 at 05:09 PM
though not technically a "power"kite, i use all kinds of line laundry on my 19m delta--i dont fly it much anymore as its a tremendous workout for the
forearms and takes forever to wind in the lines--also, the snapshot 1.2 came with a tail but i usually removed it--it just slows the damn thing
down.....

Nothing is better than a little tail on no wind days!
