Wildwood Beach report

Todd - 13-10-2011 at 10:14 AM

Sandy

Looks outstanding at the southern end even with sand covering a section of the upper pipe close to the pier. This should be a safer transition around the tight bottle neck that was there in the spring. North Beach was non-existent at high tide but will check at low tide.

Shalimar report:
 outstanding as always and very good to see Maria again.

lamrith - 13-10-2011 at 10:23 AM

Vans wind report as of now... Windy blowing ESE at about 10
@ Rich

ragden - 13-10-2011 at 11:54 AM

Glad to hear the south beach is looking good. Some concerns about north beach though... I would rather ride south beach, but if winds turn that direction, it would be nice to have that location open as well...

Currently scheduled to come up Thursday night, but plans may change depending on wind reports...
;)

Umm OK  I didn't realize that my videos had that affect on people but that's cool. Beach report today is low wind and time to do laundry. For the rest of the week looks awesome with Saturday looking to be the stellar day. For those not comfortable with the high winds please bring a smaller kite, you'll do fine.

lamrith - 18-10-2011 at 09:38 AM

Yeah that blasted song is catchy.. "Blame it on my A.D.D...."

Todd - 18-10-2011 at 03:57 PM

Huge day today with the wind coming a little bit too much from the east but forecasted for SE. About 4 o'clock the SE switch was found and lit up. FULL BEACH PASSES north to south. Winds blowing about 15 had my 18m Phantom cooking. At one point I had a truck traveling down the beach that I had to blow by like he was sitting still (hope I got that on camera) By sunset it was sad to come in but I couldn't barely pull in the depower bar. Gonna sleep good tonight!

;)

joecat - 19-10-2011 at 09:31 AM

North Beach at low is actually pretty good....so if we have to resort to North Beach with NorthEast winds or SouthWest it wont be bad....however high tide North Beach vanishes.........

Good to know. The wind forecasts I have been seeing all week are favoring south beach almost entirely (WNW and NW winds Friday - Sunday).

For later in the fall season, this will be good information to have if winds do turn around. Thanks for the update dude. See ya soon!
:)

bobalooie57 - 19-10-2011 at 09:38 AM

@joecat, that reminded me, I have a package to send you! I had boxed up that trainer I told you about after the spring bash, but it sat forgotten in the back of the closet. I packed it in the truck with the intent of giving it to you this week, but since it is already packed for shipping, I will send it to you. Have fun out there! Will your powerkite club be at the bash? There will be lots of kites/kiters to help you give pointers!

cheezycheese - 19-10-2011 at 02:48 PM

This just in.... PHOTOMATT will be on the beach Saturday so be sure to flash your good side as you roll by fthe camera... :spin:

bobalooie57 - 19-10-2011 at 03:11 PM

Gonna do another calendar?? I'm liking this months with Michael throwin a power slide, and Jim in his buggy, and I'm not sure who that is with the NPW up in the corner?

shehatesmyhobbies - 19-10-2011 at 03:21 PM

Just had a real nice ride with Paul, Ricki g, Todd, Rian, Nick and Chad! It was going well till we were all down beach, it started raining, wind disappeared. Long walk back! Drying out now then dinner. logged 8 miles and hit 28mph! Not bad for a so-so wind. Can't wait till the rest of you get here!

Todd - 19-10-2011 at 03:34 PM

Today’s Beach Report Wet:

Play long enough with the bull and you'll be sure to get the horns was not what I expected when the wind just died soon after turning around from south beach. OK no big deal just hikes it back right? Started to roll up the kite and the sky just opened up on us, I could see anyone in sight Headed for the street for some easy walking and 20 or so blocks it was good to see the Shalimar again. A few minutes later Rich, Chad and nick came strolling in as Ryan was busy trying to find people in his Jeep. Good times either way with a few full beach run riding on a sweet SE wind.

Sorry to hear that Bob, you will be missed.

WELDNGOD - 19-10-2011 at 03:42 PM

I'll be bringin' the wind with me!!!! See ya In the AM.:wee:

Todd - 25-10-2011 at 04:21 PM

Wind cranking off shore 18 gusting to who knows with the 12m up = me calling it a day after some sketchy moments riding alone. Eventful day and nights, fire department just left after my friends burnt the steak

All's good no worries. Oh yeah... I have video

doublespeed360 - 26-10-2011 at 03:13 PM
