Looking at the Boston Marine forecast...am I reading this right? 20 to 40 MPH from the southwest on Saturday??!! Unfortunately that's too much wind
for this rookie to venture out with a kite!! I will, however, be tearing up the lake on the windsurfer tomorrow. High wind = big chop on water =
jumps and more jumps!!
Question for you folks.... I just bought a new 2011 Ozone 10M Access depower kite (supposed to arrive here next tuesday). Hoping to give it a try
next weekend. I'm very comfortable on a 3 meter FB and 5 meter FB with landboard. I'm assuming that I should be okay learning how to use a depower
kite? Other than the size, are they THAT much different to fly? (except for setup, using harness, depower control bar, safety system, etc.) The
actual "flying" part is pretty much the same? Maybe depower kite turns slower than fixed bridle?
Thanks for feedback, have a blast this weekend and most of all...BE SAFE!!!

HeHe... They are calling for 60+MPH gusts here tomorrow, at the eastern end of L.Ontario! :o The 1.4M Beamer might handle the 30-35MPH sustained
wind, but I would imagine would explode (or kill me)with a 60MPH gust. :dunno:

ive flown a little snapshot 1.2 in 40, and it easily pulls me around--even had a few scuds in those crazy winds--cant imagine what 60 would do......

Access is a super stable and forgiving kite. I had a 4m and even in the craziest of winds that kite was super tame and predictable. Take the 10 out
in 10-12 mph winds just to get used to it and then you should eventually be fine with that kite until 20-25mph.
I think the biggest things you'll need to adjust to is the feeling of flying hooked in all the time and the slower turning speed. Once you get used
to that I think you'll have a hard time going back to FBs.
This weekend is too busy for me to get out, especially given how early the tides are. But I'll be around next week while the others are in WW so we
can ride the beach together without all those beach-hogging, non-course altering, speed freak buggy guys :wow::P
