wheresthewind? - 15-10-2011 at 06:08 AM

article said he had a shattered wrist from a crash--wont be long before we can insert the word head there instead of wrist......

Kamikuza - 15-10-2011 at 06:11 AM

Hey he's as fat as I am! Look out for the fat man, they're coming to get you! Fast :karate:

bobalooie57 - 15-10-2011 at 06:26 AM

I remember seeing the video of him breaking the record, and wiping out. He wasn't wearing a helmet then, either. Angels riding on his shoulders for sure! I was also wondering about his shape. If that is fat, most of it is on his back? Could air be forcing itself up the cuffs of his wetsuit, forming a bulge of air on his back?(If it were me at that speed, it wouldn't be air!!!)Fast indeed!

Kamikuza - 15-10-2011 at 06:33 AM

I think it's body armour ... and air up the t-shirt - mine does that too

bobalooie57 - 15-10-2011 at 06:43 AM

I was wrong, I just looked at the vid again, and he was wearing a helmet? My memory is surely fading!

cheezycheese - 15-10-2011 at 07:05 AM

I guess it may numb the senses. Muffle sounds, upset balance in the inner ear, peripheral vision etc.

Of course if he crashes out badly it may numb the senses permanently but I can understand why you wouldn't wear one at those speeds.

Not seen that video before. That crash seemed to last forever. :wow:

MMMMMartha's Vineyard. Lookit all that coastline! I wonder if any buggiers there?

RedSky - 15-10-2011 at 07:46 AM

Can you imagine it! I GoogleEarthed it at 14miles long. I wonder how far the tide goes out.
Got me thinking too. All that flat water, reliable high winds, a KiteCat and some Crossbows! :D
And I'm only 8 hours away....by plane!

B-Roc - 15-10-2011 at 08:25 AM

I believe I read somewhere that many don't wear helmets on water because its hard to find a helmet designed for water use that will protect the NECK - meaning a helmet may protect the head from a fall on water but the helmet can snag the water in a fall and cause a more serious neck injury then if you had nothing on at all.

Google earth is the greatest. lol I was just looking at some of the properties on Chappaquiddick Island, along the shore of Katama Bay, those must be some of the palaces they're protesting against down on Wall street! :eekdrull:

If water drag is the percieved risk I would ride with a Leatt brace as well.

And Kami, that may be wind in your shirt but is that wind in your shorts?:spin:

Kamikuza - 16-10-2011 at 05:09 PM

You want me to send you a sample of what's in the shorts? Ain't no seaweed noodle, dude

Feyd - 16-10-2011 at 06:56 PM
