Snow Geese @ GP, bring change of clothes.

Scudley - 20-10-2011 at 03:09 PM

Dirtslide and I were at Garry Point the other day to try out his new 5m. When I first arrived, there were thousands of snow geese on the field. A couple of kids on bikes chased them off, no one can blame me for harassing wildlife. A little bit buggying left me to wonder why they're called snow geese; it's not snow they leave behind. It was apparent the kids really scared the geese. These geese seem to have been living on a fairly solid diet as the turds were bouncing off you non-stop, sometimes off you and landing your seat. (This as opposed to the more usual wet splatter.)
We did not fly long.
If you are thinking about going to GP bring a change of clothes, perhaps something you can hose off. Nicest if you don't have to put your buggy inside your car. On the positive side, you can do incredible slides in next to no wind.

Not that tough Bob, but you have to remember you wanna keep your mouth closed. Smiling ok, but no grinning.

I'm thinking a full face motorcycle helmet with face shield would be best..

I don't want that stuff even on the outside of my mouth. I guess pellet form is better than the slick stuff. Maybe it will bounce off. Maybe once you are zipping along, the thrill is worth it.
