Hey it's snowing.

rocfighter - 29-10-2011 at 11:09 AM

I can't believe it. The weather idiots ( is this too harsh?) :puzzled: got it right this time. It is snowing like mad. Every tree is hanging over with heavy white stuff. If it keeps up it might get ugly.

cheezycheese - 29-10-2011 at 12:05 PM

Generator is gassed up, snow blower is tuned up and trees are looking threatening.

I love winter but this is a too much too soon.

What's all that crap about global warming :puzzled:

Latent heat?

B-Roc -

It's not crap. Global warming doesn't preclude shifts in local or regional weather patterns that appear to counter a general warming trend. The Earth's a much more complex system than what is indicated in your back yard. But it looks like you have a quiver of snow kites and nothing for use on open water, so go get it! :)

WOW shortly after I started this thread the power went out. It just came back on at 7pm. 2pmSat-7pmSun. Not bad at all since there seemed to be much more damage then with the huricane in september. And then our power was out for a week.

doublespeed360 - 31-10-2011 at 09:50 AM

yeah too soon, got 3 inchs up here, makes for a good time to sew.

doneski - 31-10-2011 at 11:24 AM

Wildly different snow depths.
Wachusetts got up to 2 feet. http://www.youtube.com/user/WaWaWachusett?feature=mhum
Parts of New England got up to 3 feet http://www.nola.com/newsflash/index.ssf/story/power-restorat...
We got less than an inch but up the hill (3 houses away) they got 6 inches and the whole neighborhood lost power.
Towns around us cancelled school but not us. The kids are bummed out.

Clear skies and 70 degrees here. We just got done with an "epic, bone chilling" cold front where the temp dipped down to the 40s at night.

No wonder we moved out of New Jersey when I was a lad.
