Looking to sell my Ozone 6.8 Razor but not sure how much to ask for it. What do you think is a reasonable price? It's only been used on a mowed
grass athletic field and the beach. No rips, tears or sign of wear. What do you think??indigo_wolf - 1-11-2011 at 07:51 PM
Should specify if you are trying to sell it KO (Kite Only), RTF (Ready To Fly) or some flavor in between.
General Spec:
Size: 6.8
Wind Range: 4-19 mph
Wingspan: 232" / 5.80m
Aspect Ratio: 3.72
Area (m2): 5.89m
I think they were $600 or $700 new KO, but not sure what the market is for a race kite that's about 3 or 4 generations old.
Sorry I can't be more help. Kent (awindofchange) might be able to offer some insight.

Thanks Sam, I'll give Kent a call latter.

Pricing used kites is very tough to do, it really depends on what you want to get out of it. The Razor is an excellent race kite and many pilots here
are still using them. They were fairly stable and had excellent speed. At the time, they were the fastest kites on the planet and won many
championships, most of the time taking nearly all of the top spots.
The 6.8 is an excellent size, great power, fast turning and awesome upwind performance. That being said though, it is a couple generations old with
the Yakuza replacing it in the Ozone lineup, and then the Yakuza GT coming to market. The biggest problem with upgrading from the Razors to the
YaS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s or the GT's was the cost. Yakuza's did up the performance but they also sky rocketed the price. 6.8 Razor's were available brand
new for around $750.00 - kite only. This came with a fairly simple backpack. The Yakuza GT 2.2 Meter now sells Kite Only for $545.00. For
comparison, the 6.8m GT sells for $905.00 kite only and the backpack is really quite lame. The PL Vapor's are not much better than that.
Because the GT's are so darn expensive, the Razor's have held their value and demand quite a bit more than expected. I don't want to place prices on
here because the kite is not mine but even listing it close to original new cost would still be a bargain over the cost of the new GT's. Now I am not
suggesting that it is worth $700.00 but for someone on a budget that was looking for a very awesome high end race kite at a deal, $700.00 would be
fairly attractive over paying $900.00 for the GT (IMO).
It all comes down to the condition of the kite, how much it has been used and what it comes with. New Ozone lines & handles will run about 175.00
if you purchased them separately. That will greatly effect the overall price of the kite if they are included.
Hope that helps.kiteboyza - 2-11-2011 at 12:46 PM
This kite is now antique and my guess would be around $400, thats what I would willing to payNeilDeans7 - 4-11-2011 at 08:18 PM
Thanks for the replies guys.
Based on your advise I'm going to ask a solid $400 for the Razor 6.8 (kite only) and see what happens. I'll take some photos of it this weekend and
post it on the forum. If someone really wants lines and handles I'll do that too for a little extra.
It has probably only been used for about 20 hrs total. It's older but still really fast.
