Phantom 15m For Sale Sold Pending

BeamerBob - 6-11-2011 at 07:57 PM

I've thought long and hard about this and this kite has gone through the mental process twice now. It overlaps alot with several other kites I have and the size is just larger than I'd launch an arc for on the lakebed. I find myself now more enjoying kites I can actively fly and the Phantom is much more of a park and ride kite which makes it so desirable for buggying.

This kite has had a very professional repair done by fixmykite.com. They had matching fabric and they apparently replaced a panel instead of piecing something in. I could show you where the repair was done and you couldn't find it. While they had the kite, I had them move the inflate zipper from the center of the kite up to one tip which makes it much easier to inflate in light winds. If this kite doesn't sell before I get a chance, I'll post pics midday tomorrow. Back east, this was a go to kite on the beach and at the polo field.

With original bag and Coastal Wind Sports spars. Shipping included to lower 48 states, with discount elsewhere.

$400 Reduced to $375

The day I got it back from its repair.

What is the right one?

g00fba11 - 7-11-2011 at 05:40 AM

The 15m Phantom is a great kite and beamerbob is a great seller....... I have just been after one of his other Phantoms for a while....... so for me he listed the wrong one....

PHREERIDER - 7-11-2011 at 06:11 AM

Drewculous - 7-11-2011 at 07:23 AM

Favorite kite! Dont do it bobby

Chad - 7-11-2011 at 11:17 AM

Goof What other one did you want?

g00fba11 - 7-11-2011 at 11:31 AM

I have had my eye on an 18m..... I tried to stuff Bobby's 18m up my shirt when I was out in Vegas with him, but he caught me......

I think the bulge gave it away.....

Someone should buy this quick before he takes it out to the playa and throws it up like he did with his RII...... he could change his mind..... It has happened......

BeamerBob - 7-11-2011 at 12:05 PM

g00f, Christmas might come early for you too!

g00fba11 - 7-11-2011 at 12:23 PM

Oh happy happy joy joy........

martinipro - 7-11-2011 at 01:09 PM

How would this ph15 compare to my VII-16 power-wise?
I see the P/A is 9.5 compared to 11.3. Would this give me too much overlap?

The park and ride sounds very appealing regardless of the overlap!

PHREERIDER - 7-11-2011 at 01:56 PM

very similar , but less low wind grunt on the power compared to V16.

BeamerBob - 7-11-2011 at 03:56 PM

Thanks Phree. That's exactly what I would have said. Also, I imagine the Phantom runs a little further forward in the window so it should be a bit faster ride on land. The phantoms really scream with speed if you get them building their own apparent wind.

Bob, I agree with you on the size for the lake bed. I used to have a P15 and only flew it once or twice on the dry lake bed. And it was just too darn large for a such a fast surface; you get going and the pull was just incredible. A great kite for the beach; used it for the landboard with great success.

I don't know how AJ used to fly that kite in such strong winds, on the lake bed.

BeamerBob - 7-11-2011 at 04:31 PM

AJ flew a 15 out there? I knew he flew phantoms alot but everything we ever talked about or pics I saw was with a 6 or 9m. But AJ wasn't with average skill either so I'm curious.

geokite - 7-11-2011 at 05:06 PM

That is the most lasting image I have of him, was sliding to a stop on a dry lake bed (don't remember which one) flying a P15 in 15mph wind.

Love that color.

Wow. I subscribed to this thread when I first saw it so I could get an email notice (about five seconds later) when this thing was sold.

I can't believe it's still here. BB - you're right....I think there's definitely something amuck in the world. This kite is the one that gave me my first boosted launch snowkiting and I'll never forget it (or let mine go).

KsKiteAddict - 8-11-2011 at 03:52 PM

Hi BeamerBob: beautiful kite! Sent you some questions in a U2U. Jim

Thanks Mac. Believe me, I deliberated long and hard about it, and probably would never sell it if I lived anywhere else in the world. This was my first arc and it eased me into the D'arc side very gently. I've never had a bad flight with it (other that trying to fly it in no wind  ) and it is a joy to fly. I just don't think its prudent to hold onto such a nice kite when I figure I'll live here for 5-6 years. It would just sit on the shelf in the garage.

Yeah, mine goes into the helix shape with my 50cm bar so I'm sure the 60 can make the front able to see the back! Thanks for the kudos Todd.
