PL 10m Synergy Sold & Shipped Across the pond

shaggs2riches - 11-11-2011 at 03:29 PM

Well, with much negotiating with the wife on buying the 9m frenzy, I got my wish. Sadly that wish came at a price and probably one that I'll regret. I've got a 10m synergy up for sale. Kite comes ready and eager to fly. I've some great sessions with it, but need to move on for now.

This Synergy is in excellent condition, with one professional repair performed by powerzone. The repair has not hurt the performance one bit. One of the inflate zippers has a bit of wear look to it but works perfectly otherwise, the other inflate and deflate are perfect. Bar is converted to front line safety, so you'll need a leash for it. Both it and the lines are in pristine condition.
The aluminum folding sticks are in great working order, except a couple of the rubber nubs on the ends need replacement.

The backpack is also in great condition. I'd hate to let this leave my hands, but I'm changing up to a strictly open cell foil for land and Inflatables for on the water. The speed 2 will be replaced next spring when I can buy a 12/13m open cell foil.

I'm asking $350CAD for it as a complete package that will take you in to the high winds for all types of kiting. Buyer pays shipping. (my scorpion was like $40 or something to ship last week) It will be packaged up waiting and ready to ship as soon as I get payment.

Here is a video I put together with my Gopro. The idea is to show just how good of condition this kite is in. Unfortunately the sound and video are really horrible shooting indoors under artificial lighting. I mentioned parts for switching back to rear flagout....not all the parts are there, you will need to find the rest of them. I inspected the kite some more and only the one zipper has the sign of wear. The colors are in fact really vibrant something else the video doesn't show.

What colors?! :wee:

BeamerBob - 11-11-2011 at 05:22 PM

I almost sold my 10m syn and I'm thrilled I didn't every time I fly it. It's a fantastic kite. I just hooked up some lighter weight lines on my smaller arc bar and hoped to give them a try today but no wind. This 10 syn would be great for those higher wind days or medium wind days that have you going really fast. Would be nice on the board as well.

There you go flyjump....... just what your looking for!!!!!

shaggs2riches - 18-11-2011 at 12:57 PM

Scorpion has sold, the buyer asked to remain anonymous cause their spouse is always on the lookout if they are buying another kite to add to the quiver.... :ninja: ...I think we all can relate to that one, so I can sympathize with that request.

Samm - 18-11-2011 at 01:08 PM

Lmao.. thats it, im never getting married!
I think i may know someone that might have interest in that Synergy. I'll try and send him your way!

shaggs2riches - 18-11-2011 at 01:11 PM

I think the key is to try and get the better half interested in the sport as much as you are. Then you can buy yourself kites and them one too.....(it'd get really pricey then I guess) I've been busy non-stop so I haven't even got some pictures taken yet. I'll do my best to take some this weekend if I can get all my reno work done.

macboy - 18-11-2011 at 03:24 PM

Or get a PO box. I may or may not have had things shipped places other than here in the past. Probably not but maybe I have

Hell, I've even had stuff routed through Yuma and brought home with the snowbirds.

macboy - 18-11-2011 at 03:25 PM

....and I'm apparently confident she doesn't watch here anymore

shaggs2riches - 22-11-2011 at 06:37 AM

I hope that my wife isn't secretly spying on me seeing what I plan on buying next:evil:......maybe that's why our dishwasher and stove magically broke down all in the same week:o:ninja::cool:

Feyd - 23-11-2011 at 12:32 PM

g00fba11 - 30-11-2011 at 10:36 PM

Alright..... someone sent a U2U on this one...... I was just about going to ask you to put it on the kite stretcher and make it a 12........

shaggs2riches - 2-12-2011 at 11:21 AM

kite is still for sale.

MikeDobbs - 2-12-2011 at 11:40 AM

shaggs- I sent you a U2U on this kite with some questions, but some other PKF members helped answer them in the meantime. Seems like this kite overlaps a bit too much with my Montana. Good luck with the sale.

shaggs2riches - 2-12-2011 at 09:46 PM

No worries mate. I figure someone will pick it up eventually. Say in time for Christmas????? It won't hurt my feelings too much if I have it around for snowkiting, as I never got the chance to take it into its element other than once landboarding. 45km/h winds and nice powdered filled fields would really be a blast with this one. I think its probably one of the last arcs to have true auto zenith. Unless new models change that. Operators are standing by ready to take your order. Will be sent to ship out within one to two days of payment, and in your hands before you know it. Beat the Christmas rush at the border, which could cause some delays.

AD72 - 2-12-2011 at 11:06 PM

Yes I am surprised my 15M Syn is still waiting for a new owner. Same color, which I agree is the best looking for that model.

shaggs2riches - 3-12-2011 at 12:56 AM

I can't lie, the Rasta scheme has always been my favorite.

shaggs2riches - 11-12-2011 at 03:36 PM

$365 shipped in North America.

BeamerBob - 11-12-2011 at 04:16 PM

I'm shaking my head that this still lays here. I love mine and just added a 12m to fill in behind it too.

shaggs2riches - 11-12-2011 at 05:08 PM

Yeah it seems to me that the sale of Arcs has slowed a fair bit compared to how fast they were going last year. My wife looked at the box today and gave me that look, like why is this still here. I have a brother that will be able to make good use of it this winter if he decides to come out with me. Truth be told I really want to know how far I can push it in the snow with this kite.

pbc - 11-12-2011 at 06:23 PM

This would be a good price K/O and yet it has a good looking bar and lines. Why couldn't I find these prices a when I bought my Arcs? :-(

Soma - 12-12-2011 at 01:24 PM

Hey there!

Sent a U2U, ;)

shaggs2riches - 13-12-2011 at 06:04 PM

sale in pending.

shaggs2riches - 15-12-2011 at 02:59 PM

This kite is considered sold.

Soma - 17-12-2011 at 07:30 AM

Can't really recall hearing but what size is the bar?

Regards
Joćo

shaggs2riches - 23-12-2011 at 06:00 PM

I forgot to measure the bar before sending it out my bad. none the less I do think that it was a 45or50cm. With how fast this kite can be I don't think you'd want anything bigger unless you wanted to pull off triple kite loops lol :frog:

Soma - 24-12-2011 at 12:29 AM

No problemo!

Only wanted to know because there where 65cm bar's flying around here (although they sold like hot pancakes) and I was wondering the size of this one.

The one I have now is 45cm and to fly the Scorp is kinda slow. If this one is even slightly bigger, I'll use it with the Scorp.

Joćo

Soma - 9-1-2012 at 12:00 PM

It has finally arrived, :wee:

Thank you very much for the way you took care of everything.

Now, all I need is some good winds, :D

Kind regards
Joćo

P.S.: Loved the way you tucked the wing in the pillow sheet,
Need it back?!? :saint:

dave brown - 9-1-2012 at 12:20 PM

It's funny how kites move around.. I got that 10m Syn from Maven and sold it to Shaggs.. Now it's with you... In Portugal.....crazy.

Looking at it sitting there brings a tear to my eye.. I wish I could keep them all:sniff:

AD72 - 9-1-2012 at 09:55 PM

Soma soon your signature pics of the kite sizes will be all the way across the screen. Nice.

Ok, so finally Northern winds kicked in and was able to get it flying.
What can I say other than, I LOVE MY ARCS, :wee:

But let's start from the beginning:

The wind wasn't the best that usually roams in this beach, since it was around 5-8 and gusting really high (20+) but what the hell, I wanted to fly the damn thing. Wind range for my weight is 10-25.
As soon as I laid the wing on the sand, it started rotating all over the place while it was filling making me think that maybe I was going to get some rotors (which happen a lot here).
Prepared the lines and bar and the wing finally inflated.
Folded the wing because I had to taco launch since I was alone.
As I hooked in, a high gust came and throw the wing to the middle of the powerzone. I walked back to pull the kite and it simply clamshelled on me.
Released the bar, pulled it in, released again and there it goes to the edge of the window,
Definitely, easier to launch (even with the quircks) than the Scorpion.

Started working the kite but had to run a few times to keep the lines tensioned when the wind died. For a few occasions, had to shift position 'cause the wind shifted also but managed to fly it with ease.

The only real stress that I felt was sometimes the wing was almost bowtie on me. Maybe do to have the straps near loose position.
What's the best approach when gusting? Half loose/tight, more loose or more tight?

The Sun was setting and it was time to pack and that was when another huge gust came and I finally pulled a not so small but really well controlled jump.
What the heck??? The Scorpion isn't as forgiving as this baby!!!!
It really made me want more but it's gonna have to wait for the mid Spring/Summer winds,

All in all, in just one hour, a really good time spent.

And a really beautifull wing in the air, :wee:

shaggs2riches - 21-1-2012 at 09:47 AM

Oh man after reading that post I know that I'll revisit that D'Arc side again one day. So glad that you got a good first experience with it. I found that I got lazy and impatient when I switched from the Syn to Scorp on prefill. Almost 3 out of 5 sessions, I would under-inflate the scorpion and get a bowtie. I flew it with the straps loose, or with the outside straps half tight and center loose. My winds are so crappy, that a loose setting seemed to result in less issues.

Reminder of a BIG THANK YOU!!!

Soma - 22-3-2012 at 06:19 AM

Well, the last few days have been the best ever till now, so a HUGE THANK YOU is in order (although digging a really old topic, sorry).

The "nortada" as is called and well known in Guincho (Northern Middle/High wind coming down from Sintra Mountain), came a little sooner due to the drought we're facing making really great weather here.

So, the Synergy has been my main motor on the beach mainly because I'm still a little scared of taking the Scorp in winds above 15Mph. (just building mental muscle and also waiting for G00fba11's Scorp 13m to arrive, :D )

Well, the Synergy is beautiful to see and ride. It's fast but really controlable and gust munching.
Also after a few sessions, I found out that I feel more at ease with 45cm bar and 20m lines, at least in the winds I've been having.

This said, shaggs2riches, here goes a HUGE HUG from across the pond for the kite. It's wünderbar, :D

I'm glad that it's in the hands of someone putting it in good use. Instead of sitting in the closet. That looks like a beautiful beach to play on there too!!!
