Need a larger Kite (depowered?) Sponsorship?

Hi guys, Only been buggying again a couple of months and already found out I need a larger kite if I want to buggy more. I have a great place to go, only one mile from my house. Skydog recently sent me a 5.5, flies great, but I need at least 10mph in order to have any fun....Any suggestions on an affordable Depowered Traction kite I can use under 10mph or inland winds, 5 to 15 which we have often. I have the rest of the range well covered with the SDT 2.8, 4.0 and 5.5.
I need something that can handle the gusts and lite winds like I had yesterday.
I have not bought a kite in many years, since I bought my kite surfing kites 6 years ago, (at a huge discount when I was working at KHK as a Kite Surf Instructor).
But I suppose I will have to unless I can start buggying more, racing, tricking, videos and teaching, and find a sponsor. I have sponsored many in dual line over the years and spent a lot of money and product doing it, what comes around goes around? I hope...lol thanks..

First, try a set of 30m lines on your 5.5m. I find that with the increased size of the window and more time in the power zone, I can usually add a couple extra knots to the bottom end of my wind range.

Had a session with very light cross onshore winds recently at my local beach (local being 2 hours away!) and ended up having to put the 6.5m method away and bring out the 9m Riot. But the Riot is pretty heavy - a friend was flying a 10m Century and running rings around me - it was a very impressive and powerful kite in the light winds. Although I believe a large high performance fixed bridle has a very limited wind range and may not be so forgiving in the gusts.

Perhaps an 11m or 13m Frenzy - now available in an ultralight cloth. Could be ideal, but not cheap...

Or maybe an 8m Century in the lighter PG fabric? I had the 2.8 Century II and it was an awesome and powerful little kite - easily equal to a 4m Method/Beamer but it certainly demanded more skill to fly. If I let any slack into the lines, I got an instant crumpled shopping bag.....

Hey Dodd,

Maybe consider this http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=20212

or this if you want to fix one bridle leg http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=20020

or this http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=20020

or this 10m http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=20191

or Ragden's 12 http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=20129

Lots of stuff for sale that would suit your need depending upon what brand you want to fly and price you want to pay.

There's more, but these were the first few I came across. Poke around the For Sale section or see if you can pick up any sponsorships (and get me one too... for Gin ;)_

Thanks for your research and suggestions guys, I really appreciate it. I'm going to check out some depowered kites at DBBB in a couple of days too. Best wishes, Dodd
