Well, yesterday I was at Southwick Beach, and before I treed my 7M(see Catbootz) I had the 4.8M out. I have it on home-made sch 40 pvc handles, and
while at the hardware store the other day, I picked up an in-line ferrule(connector). I jammed it on the left handle, and used it while riding to
convert the handles to a bar. A short vid of the process. doneski - 21-11-2011 at 08:05 AM
That mod is a must-do for me. Biggest pain I have with my Nasa wings is I need to keep both hands on the handles at all times. With the mod I can do
things like zip up a jacket.Bladerunner - 21-11-2011 at 05:33 PM
Nice.
Just curious why you were changing back and forth ? Apart for turning . Together for cruising ?PHREERIDER - 21-11-2011 at 07:49 PM
very nice, i remember a set similiar but cannot remember the maker
aluminum handles and a button snap link for them its was on a foil ????maybe the demo kite was profoil or pkd something like that
very coollad - 21-11-2011 at 07:54 PM
Very, very cool! If only someone would mod such a snap-on connector for the major makes of handles out there...ChrisH - 21-11-2011 at 07:55 PM
Very nice, I would love to be able to ride one handed sometimes and I think this is the ticket. How did you bend your pvc? Little heat and a little
pressure? Thanks for posting this!bobalooie57 - 22-11-2011 at 08:46 AM
@ BR, I was mostly switching to show the idea off. Though, because I didn't glue the connection, when a lot of power is generated, you can feel the
tension at the connector. To prevent it coming apart on its own, I took it apart myself. I think I'm going to glue the connector to one side, then
the only worry will be on other side of the "bar".
@ ChrisH, I used an electric heat gun, heating the area to be bent, then bent it in a jig made by tracing a handle on a board, and putting pegs in the
appropriate spots. I'm thinking about adding a 'D' loop with QR like HQ, or PL makes, so I can use the set up for snowkiting.ChrisH - 22-11-2011 at 01:43 PM
Oh, I see. Thanks!MikeDobbs - 16-5-2012 at 05:47 AM

Thanks for the resurrection, Mike. I was looking for a way to one hand the NASA
wings, but actually haven't used that mod much since I started flying the 4.8M as a 2-line on an old bar I had. I may use it to one hand the 7M &
the 7.6M as they seem a little squirrelly flown 2-line. I'm hoping for good conditions tomorrow, and will post some vid if I try the bigger NASA's on
this handle/bar set-up.
Neat vid, Sam. I need some type of snap/spring like that for my mod! Didn't Maven454 have one of these?indigo_wolf - 16-5-2012 at 07:47 AM

Called a button lock spring. Available at your local vacuum cleaner repair/supply store.

:o Wow, is there anything you don't know? That looks like just the ticket! Thanks, Sam. I'll have to check for one of these!abkayak - 16-5-2012 at 02:31 PM
Very cool.... my mind is ablaze right now. I will definately be trying this for myself. But my 1st question is what kind of tidal change happens over
there? Does the shoreline get hard pack? Or is there minimal diference between a high and low?
Best time of yr. to time a trip there for salmon or trout w/ good wind would be when? I'm guessing fall..... So sorry to get away from your bar/handle
post but this too is important stuff.....ThanksMaven454 - 22-6-2012 at 09:26 AM
