If the kites arn't dirty, wet or anything, but packed up and kept in say a car trunk is that bad for them? It can get really cold outside and really
cold in the trunk as well, I'm just wondering if this is bad for them or not...

My main concern with the car trunk is heat more than cold.
I don't fly much in the summer but in the winter the kites pretty much stay in the vehicles. In the summer they are stored in the garage and ground
level. I ride Arcs so I store them with spars in and loosly rolled up so I don't produce creases or wear points.
The car isn't going to get any colder than what I fly in.:tumble:

I'm with Feyd, heat is a kite's enemy, especially inflatable kites. I had every single inflation nipple fall off a kite I had because I left it in
the trunk of my car for a summer. I'll never do that again. :P

If there are wild temperture swings be aware that humidity/condensation can lead to mildew (if you don't get the kite into the air as often is you
would like) which will break down the coating on the nylon in fairly short order.
If you are worried about heat, you can drop your trunk temps with a small cooler, ice packs and rechargeable desiccant tins (to address humidity
issues).
If you are permanently/long term storing your kites in your vehicle, keep in mind how heart broken you might be if a theft/vandalism incident puts
your kite into AWOL status.
My girlfriend lost some first edition books in a theft of her car over the summer. I tend not to keep anything in my car for any length of time that
I would really miss. Prefer just having a "grab-and-go" bag of kites.
Sidenote: In the event of a car theft, the following should be categorized as adding insult to injury. The
city sends you a citation for illegal dumping because the perpetrator(s) decided to empty any of the contents of the car they didn't want on the side
of the road.
You report the theft immediately to the police and later the insurance adjustor questions what you might be doing up at 2:00-3:00 in the
morning.... really?!?! WTF!!!

Once again Indigo has it fiured out.
I had to buy a garden shed to hold all my stuff. We live it a sub tropical rainforest and I am finding my stuff gets damp inside. Moisture is my enemy
far more than cold.
