Green and Alta have only about 3' of ice. SO close ! Some kids were out on it but we chose to wait. It is supposed to get cold tomorrow !
Tunkwa was a BLAST last weekend !
My 1st TRUE hard water kiting ! Not a skiff of snow ! Long straight sharp skis and an 18m Phanny were just the tools . PFAaaast !!!!!
Coolbreeze " bike chains on the tires " trick was so " Cool " Worked real well !
I have big hopes that you will all be kiting Green over Christmas ! Next stop for me is Calgary ! :wee:

Hey Bladerunner, do you have a picture of the bike chains on the tires trick? It sounds like something I'd like to try.

I will message Coolbreeze. I expect he has pictures.
Pretty straight forward to do. He just linked the bike chains to the perfect size with tires soft then inflated the tires with a chain running in the
middle of all 3. They hold tight by the added air pressure. His front tire chain eventually popped off but it is an easy fix with a pump.
We stopped at Mammete lake and Grant had been out. It looked like he had been using his ice blades. The chains cut a nice sharp line.
It was our opinion that the tires with bike chains worked far better on the imperfect ice we had. He didn't try the blades but it was pretty obvious
they wouldn't have been ideal. From the little I have seen of efforts to deal with kite buggy on frozen lakes, THIS is the way to go ! Cheap and easy
!
Personally, I don`t see why anybody would want to buggy during those precious few snowkite days we get but each to their own !
Something similar but not the same also happened !
CB is all, I have every size of FB race kite today ! You can fly them all! I am all, I have 3 sizes of arcs here today and YOU can try them all ! I
love kiting with CB but we are out for very different thrills !
