you could set a speed record today in Scotland

markite - 8-12-2011 at 09:51 AM

a wild winter storm has been lashing Scotland all day, Fiona called to report she was getting gusts in the 80-90mph range and up in the Cairngorms mountains the highest gust was 165mph. Many things shut down and wind damage - here's one photo from the BBC site.
Definitely a small kite day.

Those crazy windmills are always doing something when the winds a whiping. Around here they've been known to lay down on the job.

~3 x 165 mph = ~495 mph :wee: :o

I have a project in Aberdeen that is building a 35 meter tower that is to go 3km underwater. It would be safer there than on land.

Talking to a patient at a nursing home we both snap our heads toward the window , there 3 stories up is a picnic table umbrella doing its best Mary Poppins imitation. Almost staight up and straight down.
