Large Vapor kite pictures.

Ok so I am curious if anyone has any pictures or has seen any pictures of a 16.1m vapor with something to reference like a car next to it or a house. Videos would also be nice. I just want to get an understanding for how big this kite is. I am not actually planning on buying one by the way just want to get an understanding of the size.

"It's just an impenetrable wall of power isn't it! "

Yep...he scudded all the way to the lift-off point in 4 mph winds!

Now, all I need is a couple more people to slam into my '01 Mitsubishi, then I can eventually own a 16m Vapor too! :tumble:

Wait...is that a little Sky Tiger at 4:19 cruising along a bit with the big ole Vapors? :ninja:

Wow awesome videos and pictures. Thanks guys so in reality having a 16 still really isn't needed unless you want to tandem in like 1 or 2 mph wind. A 13 will do it no problem.

Depends on how you soon you want to ride. Guys with big race buggies go to the 16.
I like the 16, used at WC on fun start day, all summer long with Coolbreeze (CBE master on the 16), and at Grayland and SOBB. Without it I'd be siting out a lot.

If you're in a smaller buggy you could get away with the 13 and it turns a little faster too.

Libre vmax on the buggy hoping to upgrade to a VTT black widow, or custom build a buggy, I'm thinking about going all out but how to bend titanium without a hydraulic bender, hmm, One of my friends said we could cut and weld cut and weld and that would get the desired shape but there would be lots of cuts and welds. I was thinking about building something along the lines of the dominator but much lighter yet just as strong. Titanium or high grade aluminum but ahhhh the price on both is very high and the titanium is very hard to work with.

I may buy the 16 next year the biggest kite I have is that 14m frenzy and that is a lot of kite but it is a depower to so a 7m F.B. would be about the same.

cant find a dadicated vapor thread, so i am askin here:

was there a predecessor to the vapor? or was the vapor the first high aspect ratio race kite?

is there maybe a website describing the history of all pl foil kites ?

arkay - 9-1-2012 at 04:56 PM

good question... maybe the reactor 1? then spawneth the vapor for higher performance and the R2 for more midrange?

BeamerBob - 9-1-2012 at 05:57 PM

IIRC the RII came out before the vapor or maybe around the same time.

Bladerunner - 9-1-2012 at 06:19 PM

I would " try before you buy " with the 16m.

While Ricky makes it clear us little guys can fly the 16m I think it takes skills that I don't have?
I am NOT a big Vapor ( or any race kite ) fan but I find the 11.2 to be the sweet kite for me ! Big enough to get me going in almost no wind . Fast enough to turn with my skill level. Small enough that I am not feeling overpowered as soon as I start moving.

That sayed, my budget dictated the 10.8 Reactor II and I have few regrets.
