5m FlySurfer Speed 1.5 SOLD

Midgaar - 28-12-2011 at 10:53 AM

I hate to sell this kite but I need the money right now more. Kite is really in great condition for what it is. Has the 1.5 mod and 5th line safety system. Bar and lines in good condition, all pulleys work, and kite flies great. No real noticeable wear in the canopy colors, it really doesn't show it's age.

This is one of the fastest kites I've ever flown, granted I haven't flown all that many kites. With a little work I had it pulling me in the buggy on grass in 10-12 mph.

Asking $400 firm.

I saw this kite in November and it was in incredible shape, especially for how old it is. the colors are bright and crisp and that thinng was flying like a dream. Buy this confidence! Good seller

stetson05 - 28-12-2011 at 11:10 AM

I wish I had the money. It would fill a gap nicely. My S1.5 was awesome.

cheezycheese - 28-12-2011 at 12:47 PM

Is that correct... 5m...?

Midgaar - 28-12-2011 at 12:59 PM

Yes sir, FIVE meters. It's a rare beast. It's picked me off the ground a couple times in 15+ mph winds. It's really fast through the window and thus generates a ton of power. In higher winds 15+, it's really stable. In low winds it doesn't do great and falls out of the sky easily, but I assume any small kite would perform the same.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, this kite was moving the Ivanpah buggy just as fast as a 13 Venom II. Winds were a steady 17mph ish.

This is a beautiful kite. I was there over Thanksgiving weekend.

Great seller. Crappy pilot.

Just kidding. JUST KIDDING! (about the pilot comment) He made me look like a novice in my buggy.:moon:

where's blade??

tridude - 4-1-2012 at 05:53 AM

this is no doubt add bass buggy kite............this is basically a depowerable race kite..........upwind hard to beat, and no doubt fast and powerful. Flysurfer's (closed cells/Speeds, Pulses, Psychos) are known for water useage but are awesome buggy motors too.......................good luck on your sale!

mougl - 15-1-2012 at 03:53 PM

If only we had more wind where I live, this would find a home with me...

Midgaar - 15-1-2012 at 04:00 PM

Even though I could really use the money, I'm not in any real rush to sell this little guy. I may be moving to Arizona or Nevada later this year and I'm sure this would be a hell of a kite on the dry lake beds.

I'd still take $400 but I don't think I'd go any lower, I've had a few nibbles but no serious offers yet.

must.....stop.....looking.....

Sorry for the thread veer but I am VERY impressed by your speeds!

What are you using for a board?

A board built to get speed you may be interested in is www.flexboardz.com

@bladerunner, i use a custom Ground industries patrol, trampa superstar hubs with skf bearings (this is for the cooling), standard bionic trucks with blue blocks.
Fly : for hard wind a PKD buster 3m and soulfly 3.3m (with a ozone turbo bar), Gin kite zulu 5m (my only tube).
For less wind i use now my flysurfer speed 15 dlx or my flexifoil blade I 4.9/7.2m.

I find foils better for speed run as i can use them as a break, tubes tend to pull me better for the speed but i have to be able to keep my balence when running out of terrain.

When at speed it takes sometime to run out, my normaal out run is around 110 yards at a speed of 38 mph.
When there is no power in my foil i get speedwobbel and sometimes have to baal on my back.
For safety i do wear protective clothing.

The fastest kite (and the best i have flowen) is the vapor 2.9 kite from arie.
Yes the one he did the world record with.

Ps: I have just got a message for libre germany that i can test there radical II kite, in the near future. So i am thinking about wether to buy this kite as shipping it back to europe is costy.

rocfighter - 19-1-2012 at 06:55 AM

Oh well Back to arguing with myself!!:puzzled:

Yes Midgaar, it is still for sale.
I have to say sorry but buy in the US, and then paying the import cost+ the shipping.
Is just to much money to have it sent to nederland.
Even though this kite is in very top condition and well worth the price you are asking.
Thou ever buys this kite has got themself a bargain.

Tip on flying this kite in hard wind set the kite on the soft setting.
This is important so the kite dus not fly out of the window.
A rider i ride with sometimes has the same kite, he only flys it at ROMO Denmark for speed runs.

Again sorry Midgaar for the inconvenience.
I still am looking for this kite, but i will have to look closer to home.

Midgaar - 19-1-2012 at 12:46 PM

I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure the 1.5 mod (speed 2 bridle system) disables the hard/soft settings. Anyone have some imput on this?

stetson05 - 19-1-2012 at 01:01 PM

My 1.5 had the hard/soft steering settings disabled. I talked to powerzone about it and he confirmed that was correct. The mod disables that part of the bridle. I think the mod also added the 5th line for safety but that one I am not sure of.
