19m Venom II current bid $70

elnica - 30-12-2011 at 07:55 PM

There is a 19m venom II in "excellent condition" going for $70 + $25 shipping on ebay. I know I'm probably screwing one of you over since there is only one bidder at the moment and it's probably someone from PKF but if anyone else is interested here it is:

(not mine)

silvereaglekiter - 30-12-2011 at 08:33 PM

O.T.
wow I haven,t been on fleybay in a wile. looks like HQ in next up on the copy block. A lot of the Knock offs for sale by "4mkites" look a lot like new HQ's

AD72 - 30-12-2011 at 09:04 PM

Green and Red holiday colors too!

bigkahuna - 31-12-2011 at 04:25 AM

Looking at the bar he's including, be forewarned that that chicken loop doesn't have a safety release. For safety's sake, please don't ever fly a power kite without proper safety releases.

wheresthewind? - 31-12-2011 at 07:56 AM

to the op--youre not screwing anyone over--theres 6 days left on the thing and the price will be going up up up......whether or not pkf members knew about it or not.......

wheresthewind? - 31-12-2011 at 07:58 AM

i just read the other posts in this thread--hmmm..... maybe price wont be going up that much--one interesting note is that seller feedback rating is only 15--i'd be careful......

elnica - 31-12-2011 at 05:31 PM

even kite only seems like a good deal depending on how much the bids increase. CL can be replaced I think... or if you have a PL bar you're good to go.

rocfighter - 31-12-2011 at 06:43 PM

This is most likely not a friendy selling this. What the others are saying is it is most likely a copy and not a good one. Sit back and watch it go. The last thing you need is a large power kite that is not safe at any "wind" speed.
I'm not sure of this seller but we do have a guy that changes his name on Fleabay regularly when we point him out. This could be him.

silvereaglekiter - 31-12-2011 at 09:46 PM

I don't think its our wormy little buddy, 15 stars only means he has not sold or bought much.

lad - 31-12-2011 at 10:02 PM

Heh-heh...all you guys warning about newbie sellers and possible "knock-offs" (...of a PL ARC?!?!?!...) wouldn't also happen to be bidding....would you?

At the stroke of midnight...lemme throw some REAL chum into the eBay waters....

'06 RTF Frenzy 7... BUY IT NOW...$200!!!! (or BO)
(you can thank me next year!) :smug:

g00fba11 - 31-12-2011 at 10:13 PM

Hey lad I think it must be a knock off...... and that bar.... oh my..... that is a piece of work..... 30inches..... that puts it close to 75cm..... a seller rating of 15..... hmmmmm ..... he had 2 purchases in 2003..... then a 5 year pause....... yup sounds fishy to me.....

If I were you guys I would leave this one alone.......:rolleyes::lol:

lad - 31-12-2011 at 10:36 PM

Was there ever any verified occurrence of an twinskin counterfeits in the past?

I mean, Montanas, Frenzys, Beamers, Revs and Slingshots...those I can understand.

But I can't imagine any particular arc model whose sales and recognition factor ccompare with those other kites (tho' I imagine the VII was probably one of PLs best selling models).

rocfighter - 1-1-2012 at 07:29 AM

Well for $70 it could make a sweet beach shade!! Or as Lad says it may be the real deal. Just a wacked out custom made bar.

lad I was just fueling the fire..... sorry..... I couldn't resist.....

I don't think there has ever been an arc knock off either..... I think he is tossing in an old bar he has had laying around to sweeten the deal. But if it is a 30 inch bar like he states that translates to about 75cm - 5cm larger than the biggest NSI longhorn bar. From his description the bar does need a lot of work to make it safe.

You probably could fix this bar up with a new set of lines, a best 09 depow set up, a PL 07 CL/QR, and an NSI leash...... about $220 in parts...... and if the bar is truly 30 inches/75cm it would make turning a bit quicker....... or post in the wanted section for a 60cm PL 07 complete setup..... and relist the bar that comes with this kite for a few bucks for someone else to deal with.......

lamrith - 1-1-2012 at 09:04 AM

Right now it is an equal/better deal than the one I snagged a few months back!! Lets seee how long it stays that low. :-p

Bars are easy to fix/upgrade if the core bar is any good. I mean heck I rebuilt mine for cheap with a new CL from Goof and I had never done it before!

This is a used kite anyways, we all know our buddy only sells new knock-offs. The gaps in transactions do not mean much. I was hardcore ebayer back in 04, went 0-220 feedback in that year, then stopped and did not start doing anything on ebay again until late last year...

Use paypal, verified address etc and you should be ok..

lad - 1-1-2012 at 09:19 AM

For $70, you can use the bar as a door jam and get some kind of new one off of eBay or CL! :smug:

(Hard to believe no one has made an offer on that Frenzy yet!)

erratic winds - 1-1-2012 at 10:37 AM

It's a Slingshot profire bar circa 2005. Not an atrocious bar, but would definitely be worth upgrading away from.

g-force junkie - 8-1-2012 at 04:36 PM

This kite ended at $416.00 just about what I would expect, somebody got a great kite at a great price

BeamerBob - 8-1-2012 at 06:05 PM

That seems high to me since it is essentially kite only. Non standard bar with worn out lines and no safety on the chicken loop. A nice example of this kite should be around $300-325 IMHO.

That's exactly what I was thinking. And to think I was going to try to sell mine for $250 or maybe even less :wow:

...but don't think I ever could as it was my first 'kitesurf' kite!

arkay - 9-1-2012 at 04:57 PM

I need to sell mine; I'm just apparently very subconsciously reluctant to.

... yeah, but thats what happens when someone blows the auction up on the forums... glad nobody did it to me with my speed 3... woulda been costly

g-force junkie - 9-1-2012 at 08:25 PM

Yea, well the pump cost an extra $100 but still a super deal. The real deal was the V2 13 with stuck zippers that went for $72 right after this kite ended

AD72 - 9-1-2012 at 09:48 PM

That was a V1 but yeah - I was eyeballin it too even though I have one already in perfect condition.

:rolleyes::smug::saint:

It was a Venom I though.

AD72 - 10-1-2012 at 12:07 AM

Glad I did not bid against you bud.

flyguy0101 - 10-1-2012 at 06:54 AM

I just sold my venom I 13 and threw a bid on that one at the end cause thought it was a great deal but glad to see it may have stayed in the family
scott

BeamerBob - 10-1-2012 at 08:16 AM

I don't think the problems it has will be real problems. For the price this one might just stay in the quiver long term. It seems to be the "BMW 3 series" of arcs. I'm sure this one didn't reach its true potential price because of fear of how bad the zipper issues along with the few holes needing patched.
