Thanks. I put that rig together using an old tripod leg and a camelback. The footage in the vid was at full extension (about 40"). The tripod leg included the center tube and crossmember to give it more structure and more rigid mounting options. The camelback has a plastic backboard. I velcroed the leg to the inside of the of the pack through the plastic back in 3 places. I needed to tie down the end of the leg to the bottom of the back in the pack to raise the other end of the leg with the camera on it. The 1.5L of water acted as a counter balance for the rig and refreshments. I added a waist strap to the pack too but the stitching let loose almost immediately.

I mounted the cam to the leg with the same clamp I used for the board mount. Notice that the cam is off the rail and vertical in the board mount clip.

Patent that rig. I guarantee someone will steal and develop that idea. Great rig, it offers a nice point of view without having a camera man.

It was an awesome trip. The guys have said that we had the best conditions in 10 years. Near ideal air temperature, water temperature, and most consistant winds and some good ocean days. Not to mention a great group of people.
