painphul,
beside the danger he poses to himself and those around him, i am most concerned about the blonde that has to go home with him. maybe she was a weekend rental too.

@2:08 really good ad for rethinking the board leash..... was waiting for it to clock him in the back of the head.

@2:45 Front to back tear in the canopy, and it still looks like he is trying to reposition the kite for a relaunch..... WTF?!? :puzzled:

Seemed like there was an overabundance of "attitude"....

Cutaway knife to to LE bladder ?!? Orion Skyblazer Flares... 10 second burn time... 500 ft. launch altitude... $45 for a 3 pack. Just sayin'...

 :saint:

ATB,
Sam

I think my favorite part was the what looked like a 10-12 yr old kid doing jumps and getting upside down with his kite while the wrinkle was throwing a fit.

No doubt the guy hasn't a clue, but anyone else also see this as possible "cyber bullying"? Sure would be easy to shoot some video of someone you don't like and make him look like a complete idiot to millions of people around the world. I'm not defending this guy's behavior, but surely whatever his problem is didn't need to be aired for all the world to see. To me it just seems like some line of privacy and fairness has been crossed. And no, my name isn't Jean Claude. ;)

At any rate, if you spend much time at the beach you'll see this kind of stuff on a regular basis. I can name a couple people who weren't too different from this fellow 10 years ago and then later became sponsored pros. That's part of the reason I generally have no respect for pro kiters.

ragden - 5-1-2012 at 06:37 AM

Yeah, this has been floating around for awhile.
Possibly cyber-bullying. Good point. Didn't think of that at the time.
Of course, he could just be a completely clueless nitwit...
*shrug*

I think the whole "biggest a**hole on kite beach" title pushed it over the line from my perspective. That and the poster is completely anonymous, if you're going to insult someone have the cajones to be accountable for your actions. Like I said in my edited post, I've seen plenty of this type of behavior over the years but I've never been motivated to slander the culprit all over the world. "Two wrongs do not make a right" is my opinion.

Agreed. Didn't know it was posted anonymously. You make a good point.

When I first saw this come up, it was posted on Kiteforum, and people were using it as a way to warn other kiters to watch out for this guy... Not necessarily to slander him an idiot to the world, but to alert people to watch out for him...

When this hit our local kitesurfing forum, the guys there looked at it as a way to create a constructive discussion on how to approach people who are being dangerous at our flying locations... It really depends on how you take it.
