It is freakin pounding snow here~!

Feyd - 12-1-2012 at 09:38 AM

It's looking like about an inch an hour. No wind tho. I forgot what snow looked like.

It will screw up some of our ice. But some will be good and it will be nice to ride some nice QUIET snow for a change.:wee:

If this was facebook, id be hitting the LIKE button.

Man, and we have 32 deg, with rain this morning... And the Tug Hill festival is this weekend...But the NOAA is calling for it to start snowing later today, carrying through the weekend. Hoping the lake effect machine cranks up later, it could easily add 6-12" over the course of tomorrow.

I got a skiff of snow last night with like 30mph winds gusting to 50mph. Almost a quarter of an inch of snow. LOL

awesome,

up here, we've had a *much* warmer winter than normal so far, and the snow has been lacking badly. Not used to seeing so much brown in January for us. But, some in the forecast soon!

not the only ones though, in one snowkite video in the French alps, the guy was mentioning that the snow was pretty sparse up there for this time of year....looks like it all saved up for one big dump in Alaska.

Rochester NY has had one snow fall. The most we have had at one time, is a dusting that covered the grass. No ice yet and it was almost 50 degrees here yesterday. You could go out on a boat and fish..... That's how bad it is up here.
What's that you say...
Go buggy!....Well when you walk out in the fields the water pools under your feet and I'm only 150 lbs. Catch 22

Calgone take me away. hehe

FINALLY snowing here. Ice on the big lakes is really poor. Booo! So, I'm just hoping the snow doesn't all blow away. I have a 40 acre field one block from my house just waiting for skis and kitesled!

Sitting in pittsburgh expecting to get loaded in the morning. Looks like a rough day for me tomorrow with mostly ice and snow along with a HazMat load :wee:

were supposed to get 2-4 here in oh..... not much, but anything will do just to get us slidin around..... we'll get killed in feb and march guaranteed--thats when the REAL FUN starts......

We've been riding mostly Chocorua and Umbagog. Choco is usually a complet goat rodeo wind wise so bring your "A" game if you head there.

Wind is supposed to gust over 45mph tomorrow. Rain in the forcast then serious cold snap. It should be interesting to see if it messes up surface conditions.

It's been on for a month here in Colorado, so many park an ride spots it's hard to pick one. It's La Nina so places that haven't had snow for years now have snow and the places that normally have snow have very little. Looking very good for the North American Snowkite Tour out here.

Whooohoooo!!!! Winter has arrived!! Small to medium lakes are fine around here, but like you said, the big bodies of water spell trouble.

Feyd - 13-1-2012 at 12:33 PM

Typical. 6 inches of snow then poured rain all day today. Now we have a nice death crust on top.

Some days........:ticking:

Sorry to hear about that Chris:( Hopefully conditions will change again for the better.

Here in southern Ontario it rained all day yesterday and the ice that was thin was starting to open up again, further east they had freezing rain all day off the north east side of lake Ontario but not much snow. Today we have nice freeze mixed with a dusting of snow just to turn yesterdays rain into slippery roads. Man this is really a messed up winter so far - it's supposed to stay cold so maybe by next week...
A couple of buddies are on their way to Tug Hill so they are just emailing back their progress on road reports - Ian is stuck at the Fort Erie border crossing with traffic and Jim (Jellyfish snowboards) is heading toward Kingston and then down. I hope they get some riding in this weekend.
