Tell me about Flexifoil Rage and Blurr

rtz - 12-1-2012 at 10:02 PM

Who has or had or has flown these kites? What sizes? What were they like and what do they compare too?

I don't know anything about these two models and I'm still not completely sold on either one. Anything special or unique about them?

I'm a big fan of Flexifoil Rage... it's beginner friendly and a great buggy machine if you're not interested in being the fastest. It's very stable, but it's not to good for going upwind. It has good lateral pull, but not that much lift. Until the last Wildwood Buggy Bash I owned almost the entire set of Rages with the exception of the 1.8m (but I had two 2.5m). The 3.5m and 2.5m were the ones being used all the time. For lighter winds I started using the depowerable kites... that's how I decided to part with my 6.0m Rage.

Both are great kites. I've flown the 2.5 Rage and 6.0 Rage. I've also flown the 2.5 Blurr and 7.0 Blurr.

Both kites are very stable and user friendly. The Blurrs have more power and are faster.

You really can't go wrong with either kite but if you're just starting off, the Rage might be the better choice. If you want something that will get you going fast in a buggy, I'd go with the Blurr.

In terms of comparisons, it seems like the Rage has about the same or maybe just a tad bit less power than the Bullet but it's definitely more 'refined'. I think the Blurr are about as powerful as the first generation Reactors but not quite as fast and powerful as the Reactor II's in IMHO.

Hope this helps...
