So the local gang and I headed out to our standard field. The wind was gust 25 gusting to 30ish when I got there. The wind started to slack off as I
unloaded my gear. By the time I got unloaded and set up it was 20-25 mph. I put the 2m Flow up It did ok and RTZ let My friend John use his 1m Imp
Quattro to learn on. John has never kited before.
Anyways we were all having a fairly good time and the wind slacked a little bit more. I am still having a blast with the 2m but now I am thinking its
time for a tandem. Mark another local guy let me use his 2.6 speed to tandem. I was able to move but not quite enough to make it back up wind.
Next we try a 4.5 Imp Quattro. I could go up wind but not with the grunt I am use to. So I man up and go get the 5m Flow. Well I hot launch it and get
blasted 10 feet in the air so now I am thinking this might work. We hook up and go blasting up and down the field like John and the second bug weren't
even there.
I had John yelling and screaming and begging me not to kill us. Apparently 2 wheeling scares the tandem rider, Who knew. Down turns with the kite made a huge difference in how the turn
went.:wee: That was how I 2-wheeled the tandem. So now John is hooked and wants to get a kite he should be on the site any day now.
I'm thinking a Hornet for him they are just awesome beginner kites. So from what I learned it takes about 2 to 3 meters more fabric to move 2 people.
Also on a side note I found out if you turn to sharp it can cause your passenger pain. Something to do with the front buggies tires and the other
persons legs.:embarrased:
