This is our annual pilgrimage to Kingston SE on the Limestone Coast of South Australia. The beach runs about 120km all the way to the mouth of the
Murray River. The winds were not overly cooperative this year which also made for a rougher beach than usual. Quite a few buggied down-wind to the
Granites (about 13km along the beach to the North of camp) then got a tow back by 4wd. Good fun. Interestingly, after Easter, the ribbon weed piles
up on the beach making it impossible to walk on, let alone drive or buggy. 10 minutes away is a dry lake -it's clay, I believe, and gets very sticky
if its damp, but from November to May it's usually dry, hard enough to buggy on and smooth with just a few obstacles to watch out for. It's about 1
mile wide and 3 long. Pick a direction and go! I spent a lot of my time here in the cooler hours of the evening.
Looked like a great time....!!! :wee:Kober - 31-1-2012 at 12:15 AM

Interesting surface on that lakebed. It tracked like its sand. On Ivanpah, you might make a track but you don't leave a print or change the surface
in a way you could feel if you rode over another's tracks. I always love your videos John. Could you do a short video showing that camera mount on
your rear axle? It shows what's going on much better than a helmet mount.KAZEDOKA - 31-1-2012 at 08:20 PM

Thanks very much for the kind words guys!
Yeah, last kite didn't do so well going upwind.....but was very relaxing to take a break on!! Cris did a 94.6 kph on either that day or the next with
a 7m Montana.
@ Bob - a bit of a look at the mount on the first 30 seconds of this....
