2012 Edmonton Snowkite Festival????????

shaggs2riches - 4-2-2012 at 09:24 PM

Is there gonna be a festival this year???? Looking forward to it, really planning to make it for at least one day this year. Or are we actually waiting for snow to happen to have a snowkite festival???? Just hope there are no fires or emergencies that hold me up again like the past couple years.

I dropped Mike a line a while back but haven't heard back. All we need is a bit of snow to show (and wind). Hell - even if there's nothing organized, if there's snow and wind it'll be no different than an organized meet because everyone here is jonesing hard.......

what are the proposed dates for the festival??? I could tie it in with a visit to family in edmonton .... Macboy offered a couple lessons for this scorp I got from flyjump .... sounds like a good reason for a road trip ....

I thought that it is normally on the 18th-20th weekend due to the family day holiday.

Yep - normally the family day weekend. Sometimes the full weekend, sometimes just the Sunday and Monday, sometimes just the Sat/Sun.

All Are welcome. When we run out of beds and couches we still have loads of plush carpet in the new basement ; )

The lake launch is 22 minutes from my front door including a stop at Tim's drive thru.

I can't get over the "winter" we've been having........

I have faith that we will get a good dump before its over. Hopefully the really really cold days are done though. I know the temps are great, but I'm depressed that I haven't had a good kiting day since October. Gotta get blades for the mountainboards if next winter is the same.
