Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Mike and my wife and I started snowkiting a couple winters ago. I’ve been following this
forum for even longer so I have to say thanks to all of you for the loads of useful info I’ve already found here.
I stopped to check conditions on a nearby lake today, which was pretty well scoured off of any snow. Saw some guy across the lake going crazy fast on
skis on a white, red, and black kite that I couldn’t really make out (kinda looked like a Charger but a little different). Anyone local to me on this
forum?
Thanks again and good to be here.B-Roc - 13-2-2012 at 08:12 PM
Welcome and where abouts in NH are you? There are a number of riders in the ME, MA, NH, VT area.Pierogi - 13-2-2012 at 08:23 PM
Thanks- we're in the Rochester area.markite - 13-2-2012 at 08:54 PM
Welcome to the forum, I'm pretty sure you saw Chris Krug - he's in North Conway NH and is on here under the name Feyd on his posts. I think I know
which of his kites you saw.
His web blog is: http://www.hardwaterkiter.com/
Bienvenue!

Not a lot of kiting couples...not a lot of women kiters...so welcome.
What lake are you talking about? There's no good ice due to warm temps down in Eastern MA...so all NH lake surface(glassy to rough -as well as
thickness) info is helpful.
Last year 25+ days on ice 6 blocks from my house...this season just 2. Lake is almost half open water.Mainekite - 14-2-2012 at 05:40 AM
Hey welcome! My wife and I both kite although she is laid up at the moment. I was up at long lake in Maine last weekend with skis. We live in York and
ride the beaches from nahant to pine point. Hopefully water in the spring. Hit me up if you want to join us sometime.:wee:snowspider - 14-2-2012 at 07:42 AM
Those Chargers probably do look different at WARP speed! Welcome to the forum.Kober - 14-2-2012 at 08:38 AM

Thanks all!
skimtwashington- I definitely consider myself lucky to have a wife that was willing to get into this with me.
I happened to be at Silver Lake. Unfortunately I haven't been out much at all this year to be able to report on ice conditions, but will do if I'm
able to get out to other places (in the short amount of time we have left!)
Mainekite- great to know, we often make it out to the York / Ogunquit area and I've always thought Ogunguit beach at low tide seems like it would be
a great place to try a buggy or ATB. Any restrictions there?Mainekite - 15-2-2012 at 05:45 AM
No restrictions that I know of in the off season, even long sands works for a board. Most beaches on an east, nahant west or east, pine point south,
short sands north, ogunquit west over the dunes is do able. Nahant, long sands and ogunquit hard enough and good on a board.
