stetson05 - 16-2-2012 at 09:10 PM

If you want to add the area you are going that would help. Northern Oregon has Sunset beach. Otherwise I would refer you to this.

I am going to Seaside in about 6 weeks. I have ridden there but I think it is better to ride at Sunset. Have fun!

Lake Alvord southern oregon. I think its ten miles of dry lake bed if its dry by then.depending where you are it may be a closer drive than the beach. its only 4 .5 hours for me in idaho

MDK - 16-2-2012 at 10:03 PM

wait rouge river? the beach will be closer. probably Bandon

Hey lucky,
Pistlol River is just 10 min south of Gold beach which has the mouth of the rouge river. Pistol blows hard in the summer. I don't use a buggy, but it seems like the beach could be good for that! When it's blowing at pistol, there seems like there is alway some wind right there at Gold Beach as well.
I live in near the boarder of California and Oregon, we don't have nearly the consistency of wind, but we do get it! If you drive up on Hwy 101 I can show you a great beach here.

lucky_13 - 17-2-2012 at 08:46 PM

Thanks so much for posting those links! Especially the beach matrix one, that's extremely helpful to me.

From Gold Beach to Pacific City is about 6 hours, 223 miles. And, unless I'm mistaken, it's the Rogue River, not the Rouge River. Hope you have a great trip!

lucky_13 - 19-2-2012 at 05:13 PM

:embarrased: oh rogue lol im from cali and i wasnt sure how to spell it i guessed

ChrisH - 19-2-2012 at 05:38 PM

No worries! :)

DAKITEZ - 20-2-2012 at 12:53 AM

I will have you riding solid bro by July. A few more sessions like this last weekend and we will have to make a trip to Shoreline and let you run circles around Alex :P

he doesn't know his way out of the bay area so we will have to go stomp him on his own turf :moon:

USA_Eli_A - 20-2-2012 at 01:56 AM

if you get up to the N. strip, give me a call

MDK - 20-2-2012 at 06:06 PM

Heh I spelled it wrong too, oh well. if you were asking how far from Rogue River to Alvord, its about 6.75 hrs. I think the beach is your best bet. where in Cali are you? I would try and plan a trip to Alvord someday, I hear its a great place to buggy. I plan on going to Alvord sometime in October.

lucky_13 - 20-2-2012 at 08:40 PM

 dino is an awesome teacher ... he loves to drive by and laugh when you have an obe :ticking: lol ... (he really is a good teacher but he will laugh at you )

lucky_13 - 20-2-2012 at 08:46 PM

@ usa_eli were is n strip at.. @mdk im from central cali in the foot hills about 45 mins east of stockton

MDK - 20-2-2012 at 10:20 PM

I think n strip is sunset beach, north oregon beaches.. so your about 6 or 7 hours to Alvord from Stockton, let me know if you ever make the trip.

WIllardTheGrey - 21-2-2012 at 01:24 AM

If your going to be near Florence give me jingle I'll show ya around:wee:.

lucky_13 - 21-2-2012 at 11:23 PM

@ willarad thanks bro... all i know is ill be up in oregon for a week and what it looks like there is a lot of locals who are up there ready to ride,, i think it would be cool to meet up somewhere that everyone could make it .. that would be awesome .... so we should have a vote or an agreement on a spot ... what do you all think???

USA_Eli_A - 22-2-2012 at 06:02 PM

Yep, we have a lot of spots here for all sports. It's all good.

Alvord is good early spring, memorial dayish and late summer, labor dayish, mid summer is fairly hot!
