My questions go out to those who make several events a year
I would like to make as many events as possible this year how do u get ur buggie to ur destinations how expencive is it at what distance do u drive
rather than fly if I show up with my kites and harness possibly my atb can I barrow a buggy to ride I am just wondering how affordable it can be and
some of the logistical lessons learned from others

typically, unless some airline has really cheap rates, you come out better driving with less than 500 miles. add in lots of gear and that number goes
up. You have to consider baggage charges and/or shipping of your gear. Then compare time and expenses each way. Then you'll find your drive
distance limit.
My wife is flying Allegiant air to the Bay area this weekend for under $100 round trip. Driving can't come close to competing with that.

Hey Sailor,
For some events, like nabx, some riders rent storage at a local spot, maybe sharing the yearly cost with a couple others, and leave basic gear there.
It really can depend on your long-term prospects.
If you're just getting into buggy and kite-power, you might want to wait and see before diving into a second set of gear and the associated costs.
If you're thoroughly hooked and know it, maybe after buggying a few years, you probably have some spare gear anyway and the additional pieces aren't
that big a deal.
It's easier to carry a kite or two and have your camp and buggy waiting for you.
Personally, I like to drive. Galveston was 1500 miles. Each way. Long Beach WA (WSIKF) is about 1200 miles each way. Huntington Beach is only a 5
hour drive and I can hit Elmer's and Salurian Dry Lakes on the way for nice few hour sessions.
Back in the day of 90lb bag weight for international flights, I took two buggies, all my engines and clothes in two checked bags to Australia. No
extra fees. Lived out of them for a month.
The other side of the coin is this: If you're going to a traction event... What will be there? Traction kites and buggies and boards. So show up
wearing a sexy low-cut outfit. Expose some leg. Bring Beer!
I'll bet you can find a ride.
Safen Up! Buggy On!
