Triple Play
hit East beach at 9:30 .SE winds @17 mph low tide. wide open east jetty to rock groin @ Stewart's beach..
flew jojo 4m - bora 4.5m....logged 22 miles ,,top speed 31mph.
SLP @ 12:30 SE wind 10-12 mph, jojo 5m for 2 runs to the water tower and back,,winds back up to 15 - 18 back to jojo 4m. Gps @38
miles logged
Surfside @3:30 met up with Kenny (Houston airhead) he was in the water with a 16m lei tearin it up. SE wind 16 -18
pulled out jojo4m , got a little gusty + getting tired by this time, so finished the day with PKD 3m...ended up with 45 mile logged in the bug for the
day..left for home around 5:30
great day,,great way to spend a day off....
Houston AirHead - 7-3-2012 at 08:23 PM
great day indeed, i did get scared once when i stepped on a flounder/stingray i could tell by the wiggle... most likely a flounder but still spooked
me. those barbs can cripple a man for weeks
winds were dead at Surfside until about 1pm, and then like someone flipped on a switch, instant 15+mph winds, nice tides, nice water, perfect in the
springsuit
i got some decent 15' airs on the 16m Thruster, its definitively the Ferrari of 16m "leis"
you have to keep the thruster moving, its like a 13 year old ADHD kid, the second you stop paying attention to it its on the other side of the window.
all and all great day of kiting (a much needed one).
at one point treble and i were neck and neck racing down the coast line , i think i might have pulled ahead of him at one point, was a good race.
buggy v kiteboard
kiteboards have more low end torque kind of like me having the 4:56 rear end and buggy having the 3:42

If the current Tx City Levee forecast holds, a few of us Centex peeps might show up this weekend:

I'll post up if we end up heading out there.
dylanj423 - 7-3-2012 at 09:07 PM
