I'm a little hesitant to post this since it is sketchy at best but........
On presidents day I was off of work and and I had new personal best, if you can call it that.
I woke to 17mph winds and it was supposed to be building to 22mph. I took my 19m charger to the field with me and I was hoping to get a few good runs
during my three day weekend.
The wind was at 22mph when I gathered my gear from my car and headed to set up.
Kite was flapping around like crazy since the wind was strong. I had to add extra weights to my wingtip because the kite kept trying to slip out.
Got the kite launched and I could not hold my ground. there was so much pressure on my clamcleat, I could not pull it loose to depower it by trimming
out. I had to run a few steps down wind to gain a little slack so that I could trim out all of the way. Took me a few minutes to work my way back
upwind and grab my board.
I was getting my butt handed to me in those high bumpy winds. I took it easy and was just trying to maintain control. Finally I got up enough nerve
to try and freestyle a bit. I powered my trim line up to 50% power and headed across the field trying to hold a line, sent the kite for a jump and I
went hooooooooooooooj! I went so high probably two or three stories up. It was so hard not to panic! I was in the air for so long that I had to
redirect my kite 3 TIMES!! My record for redirects before that was only 2. It was so awesome.
I came down and landed and I imediatly sat down to try and gain as much traction to the ground. I had cleared so much downwind distance I was almost
out of room and very close to a highway.
My kite was so powered up I didn't want to risk being lofted that close to a road. I pulled the safety and it released with so much force it ripped
the red safety knob off the chicken loop.
When the kite landed I checked the wind speed and found out I had been fying in 29-36mph wind! So insane.
I had a huge smile on my face and decided that I should probably be safe and call it a day.
I would not suggest flying in winds like that with a kite so large. It was definatly a new record for myself, and it felt wierd having to redirect
the kite so many times. I didn't even impact on the ground, i landed so softly.
It was one of those rare days where I got to push the limit hard and didn't get hurt in the process.
I just wanted to share the stoke.........be safe when you fly

it was awesome dudes! Phree, i wasn't expecting it to build that high. I'm not gonna lie i was definatly nervous about it. I was definatly scared
when I went that big. I bet I was every bit of 30ft or more up, but i had wicked hang time.
I also think the bungee cord quick release is a bad design. that thing snapped right off and now i have to find a new bungee to replace it

yes please say that you got a shot of this. I can't imagine holding down that much kite in that much wind :eekdrull: Definitely would have crapped my
pants lol. Mind you I never thought I would have had it in me to fly my old 16m scorpion in 22mph-25mph and that turned into the best session of my
life. No guts no glory. I guess if no one got hurt why not.

1930 club?.....
...Uhhh.......19 meters at 30ft high...is that what this refers too?
One ride and done. Congrats on PB and smartness to put kite away after...(well seems some minor equip failure may have also forced the decision).
We're just wishing there were pics or viddy.. stay safe!
Three stories...

I seem to remember you telling me you like to be overpowered at JIBE last year but bro, that's nuts! Sounds like you had fun, learned something, and
came home safe...EPIC!
