Flexifoil 7.5m Sabre II FOR SALE - SOLD

thanson2001ok - 3-3-2012 at 04:02 PM

For sale - Flexifoil 7.5m Sabre II.

This is a very nice snow kite for higher winds. Good for any land-based action, actually. Flexi isn't that well known for depower kites, so anyone wanting to chip in and vouch for how this flies, go for it.

Why selling... I have a 7.5m Frenzy and still haven't learned how to fly more than one kite at a time.

It is in the very patriotic red, white and blue color scheme. Nice graphics, in my opinion.

Photos are here... http://photobucket.com/FlexifoilSabreII7point5m

The kite has been used but is in very good condition with no repairs. Lines are used but have plenty of life in them. Bar is in great condition. Bag is perfect and clean. I think I have the manual.

I bought this as a package deal. Not sure what to ask for it. Maybe $440 and I pay for shipping?

NOW $390 shipped.

Willing to consider trades, making any diff up with cash. Looking for a 3 or 4m depower for the kids. Or a closed-cell foil in the 6-8m range. Open to things like FS, Neo, etc. Maybe an ARC.

Unbelievable.....this has to be the first unanimous vote on a poll in PKF history!!!!!!

I wonder how long this streak will continue????

So far 5 for 5.......

Love the sabre, hate the bridle!
great middle of of the road performer though. Lots of grunt.

The 9.5 is pretty much the only thing I've flown for the last 7 months. Super predicable, and I bet this kite could go up to 30mph with class.
The kite could be a great first depower for someone on a budget.

Is there any way to stuff the ballot box?(vote more than once?) I think it is that important! :duh:

thanson2001ok - 7-3-2012 at 05:13 PM

OK, we have 10 votes so far and it seems to be unanimous.

How does $390 shipped sound?

g00fba11 - 7-3-2012 at 05:56 PM

I think your just trying to get more votes by appealing to people's sense of a great deal...... are you running for office somewhere????

@ Dandre. Just curious about what you disliked about the bridle?

I didn't find anything particular about the Sabre 2's bridle that I can recall beyond there being a lot of it. My Sabre 1 had the crossover part which could be a pain in the a$$.

I loved my Sabre 1. I liked it more than the Sabre 2 but the Sabre 2 was in general a better kite. $390 is a pretty good deal for that kite. I had a Sabre 2 7m that Molly crashed into a tree and tore up the first time she took it out. Paid A LOT more than $390 for that one then had to pay a bit more to get it usable again.

We put it away for a year and didn't fly it. We couldn't bear to look at it. EVentually we got it out again and it was a great kite.

dandre - 7-3-2012 at 06:38 PM

I'm not saying it's not a great kite. Honestly it's super stable, big performer and very predictable once you get it right.
The problem is the bridle has a tendency to get tangled in itself when you're flying it hard, and it can be slow(or over-aggressive) if you haven't set it right.

Not saying I know as much about kites as you, but as a novice it was very frustrating for an incorrect loop to turn into a bowtie because a pulley got tangled.

I agree that 390 is well worth the price of the kite; and I'm sure the 7.5 is the jewel of the the quiver, but I have had problems with bridle inefficiencies and tangles... Omg the headaches.

I want to clarify for purchasers that I am thinking about buying this kite. Don't let my assessment dissuade you from an AWESOME depower at a screaming price.

This kite would make a SWEET first depower
+ the kite looks aweesome/bag is bomber too. Holds skis/ATB better than my backcountry day-pack.

Keeping other people's wallets safe, one kite at a time.

It's like a public service.

True story.
