Venom 2 - 19 RTF, $old

mdpminc - 12-3-2012 at 10:38 AM

Venom 2 19m RTF
Bought it off Dylan in May-2011, used it only 2 times on water (fresh) and 4 times on snow.

In excellent condition, with the exception of 3 pin hole repairs that were there already when I got it (pictured here).

Few upgrades to the bar;
Replaced depower rope with 5/16" amsteel, top pulley with SS bearings, Ocean rodeo chicken loop with below the bar trim, leash connection at main line. 27m lines still in good condition for another full season or two
Aftermarket aluminum collapsible sticks

I'm Interested!Do you know what year it is? Does it have aluminum or carbon spars?

keep in mind that PL didn't release new kites every year - they have a slightly different and overlapping chronology. So you might find new kites of different versions scattered over a few years. I think the V2s were released around later 2006.
How much use it's had and condition would be more important.

Those look like a sweet set of sticks by the man Angus himself......

Not skilled enough yet to represent these to their full potential, but working on it...
I am still a PL fan !! :-)

I absolutely love the Randas, used them on last two sessions of the winter, several hours on each, 8 and 6.
First session was on Luis, a little different animal as it likes to be flown fast, perhaps a new depower buggy engine, yet undiscovered.....

I was just saying to one local rider; Randas surprised me how stable and user friendly these J-N foils are !.
So easy to take-off, land, safety, super stability, etc, etc.
I wish I had these when I started learning and I am really surprised that J-N does not market these more towards beginner crowd.
Don't get me wrong, as one can see on team rider videos, these are very capable kites to say the least.

After one wipeout (limited skills here) I have discovered that they have "self parking" feature :-)) (like auto zenith except at window edge 3-6 feet above ground).
I thought it was a fluke, but it did repeat few more times over the session (8m, 6 not as pronouced)
Set-up and pack up 5-10 minutes, no kidding, when I got tired I just hooked parking strap on the spreader hook and kite just sits there TE down, inflated, no bouncing, ready to go back, hot launch in PZ no drag, great depower range...

I really wish we had more snow as it was a worst winter ever for snowkiting in our area (Southwestern Ontario) 3 sessions only, some guys did not even got out once .
Lots of "water" guys just kept surfing thru winter months; Lake Erie water did not go below 2-3C, very little or no ice at all on Ontario shores, yeah and there is no global warming !?

It will sound crazy but I will try them on shallow waters of Oliphant bay, open cell foil on water you say and I say sure, I did not crash this LE down once yet, so might be worth the try.
I just see the looks :puzzled: I will get walking out with the open foil on water. It might be fun !

Those JN's sound like they park very similar to the Flysurfer Unity. Just drops to the edge of the window and just kinda hoovers above the ground waiting for input.

If they make the Luis in a 6m size it may be just the ticket for in a buggy.....

I love my PL arcs but there are times I would love to have more depows like my Pulse 2 that I can set up quickly and just go. I might need to try a JN in the 6m range one of these days....
